Default Basic UTEC Maps

I recently acquired a used STi UTEC with all of its map slots filled with custom maps, none of which I want to run on my car. I'd like to find the original maps that came with the UTEC. I've only got access to crappy california pee-water (91) gas, so does that mean that I need to use an "octane challenged" map? I found two maps on the TurboXS Website, however they don't say what fuel they are designed to be run with. Any help on finding the TXS stock maps would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

The "normal" maps are for 93 octane. For 91 you need to as you say use the "octane challenged" maps. Also make sure you are using the constant parameters file downloaded from the TurboXS site as the old user might have messed with these too.

I went ahead and loaded up the parameters file from the TXS website. I found an "octane challanged" map on the TXS website too, but it is for the WRX, not STi. Anyone know if TXS has released an octane challenged map for the STi?

I don't think so. It would probably be best to get your car tuned by someone. If you have problems without a tune though, either post a log or lower the timing 2 degrees in the 40-100% columns and see what happens. The lower timing would lower power output but should create a bigger margin of safety. Ya might also wanna add .2 to the fuel map in the 40-100% columns, but that probably wouldn't do much.

peace
