Default OT: Anyone interested in a range day?

I don't want this to turn into a debate on gun control or anything like that, and if you'd like to do so, go into OT and argue it.

What I would like to do is gauge interest in a range day... now that it's warming up, I think it would be fun... a mini-meet of sorts where NESIC gun owners, enthusiasts, and folks who'd like to learn more about firearms and marksmanship can all get together, go to a range (outdoor or indoor), go plinking, and have some fun.

I have no idea where we could do it, or when it would be, but while I don't currently own any firearms of my own, I'm something of a marksman with smallbore rifles, and I've discussed guns with numerous NESIC folks in the past... I think it'd be a good time.

Anyone else interested, or have suggestions of where we could do it? Most of the local ranges in NH and MA are member-only, or a little small... maybe some open land up in Maine or somesuch?

Just a thought...

/Andrew

Harvard MA has a nice sportsman's club with GREAT GREAT GREAT dirt roads. My Dad is a member, we were there last week. I'll try to get the name. it is outdoors, no facilities. It has a 25 yard pistol range, a 10 yard rapid-fire pistol range, and 50, 100 and 300 yard ranges. It also has a machine gun range, not to mention "live action" ranges in which targets pop up. Staties go there a lot to practice.

I thought raucous smilies were implicit in the kitten image.

How's that?

Didn't mean to offend you, KC... I'm usually the one telling the bad jokes anyway.

If I had any of my weapons here, I would be happy to go. Does the club rent anything?

I'd like to participate, but I don't own a gun. I've only shot my uncle's .357, .22 pistols and .22 rifles and shotguns.

Cool

SKS here, but haven't been in a few years, and besides I live way down here in CT. If I was to get into it again, I would get a nice AR15 or something.

Default mmmmm GUNS

Actually Manchester Firing range is a good place for beginners and advanced alike. It's an indoors range, and they have a huge selection available to rent. Including some of my favorites; Polytech Ak-47, M60, AR-15, M4, and my baby H&K MP5SD. They also have a website,

Check them out. This place is about 45 minutes from Boston, and requires only a drivers license and above the age of 18. They are a fairly forgiving crowd also.

I personally want to see Paultg take on an M60. I will bring my camera haha. jk.

depending on the day, I'm down of course I don't own any weapons besides my blades, so it would have to be a place that rents unless one of you psychos wants to lend me some

speed safely

Brian

been a while since I've fired anything, and it was an m16- fun fun

Thumbs up

I'm interested. I've got 10 acres. We can walk a little further into the woods and bust out the automatics and hand gernades. Yeehah!

Really, I'm game for something on a warm spring or summer day. Shooting when you're cold bites.

*waiting for the red-nesic jokes*
