well then you should go to marquart and get your subaru fixed if you don't like chilsons service. I am sure they wont miss you.
and no subaru has not sent out a service recall on this or else you whould receive a letter in the mail saying that there is a open recall on your car.

If I feel like someones service has been below par I will say so to their face and anyone elses. When I shell out my hard earned cash I expect the goods period. Perhaps you do not.
I will continue to take my car to Chilsons whether you approve or dont as they are the only dealer in town. When their work is good I will tell them. When it is not I will also tell them. How else are they, or you, to know if someone in their service bay is up to snuff or not? In the mean time while you are kissing Chilsons you can kiss mine too... BF |

I agree with Brest Phan, no one at Chilson's knows that a sub-par job was done (except the guy who did it) unless you tell them. It also doesn't mean you should expect this type of service every time nor should you discontinue having your car serviced there unless the problem persists. Also, If you're going to pay dealer prices, you might as well take your car to a SUBARU dealer, not a chevy dealer.

Hi all! Just searching the net when I stumbled upon this thread.
I live/work in Altoona and happen to be getting my WRX at the end of this week. I would like to meet some fellow local Subie fans! Jesse SUBE555...also nice to see another Subaru/Mac fan. I happen to be an Apple Certified Tech. |

Yeah for subies and macs!
Two of my best friends live in Altoona, I'm over there a lot, so if you see a ugly blue wrx, that's me. Kristi |

Update on my fuel smell for those who care.
I called Chilson's today, they ordered the parts, which will be here sometime next week. The repair will be under warranty BTW my car was one of the first 2002 wrx's, the previous owner bought it new in May 2001, it now has 26k on it. Kristi |

Spotted at UWEC (lower campus) around 3:15pm, a blue wrx, 02 or 03, looked stock, I kinda waved,
anyway, who is this? Kristi |

Well,
My car has supposedly been fixed. I picked it up from Luther White Bear Acura Subaru Isuzu in mnpls last night. No fuel smell but then again it was 27 above instead of below. According to what I have read the leak usually happens around 14-f. I have a photo copy of the service bulletin #09-26-03 titled "Fuel Smell in Cold Weather". The part numbers are #17544AA134 Pipe Complete (30mm shorter than the old one), and #807707140 Hose (30mm longer than the old one). Date issued on my particular copy of the bulletin is 04/01/03. As soon as I can scan it I will post it unless I see it somewhere else. I do believe a copy of it is available in the "Factory 2.0 Turbo" forum (thread re: fuel leak). A couple of ppl have mentioned that they have been given the run around by a dealer but I see that kristi has had no problem scheduling her car for the fix. If any are denied this fix they are welcome to a copy of mine. I would like to say that Luther White Bear treated me very well. Props to Johnathan in service for going out of his way to help me and my family. Luther gave us an 03 OB to use while my car was being fixed and they took us in right away while all the other dealers I called told me they were too busy to help. When you have a car full of children and the woman of your life with you that matters. I hope any others with this prob have had it resolved- BF |
