Default Cleaning TMIC

ive been looking for a way to clean my used IC that i bought from another member, and no i dont mean bent fins. i want to submerge it in a bath of degreaser but i dont know if it will damage it at all? is there a safe way to clean IC from grease that is produced over time??

I used the water hose and then baked it in the oven.

You could give it a dip in a bucket of carb cleaner. It won't harm the aluminum but it might hurt the paint.
