Best Dealer in SE Michigan?
Can anyone reccommend a dealer in SE Michigan? I am considering a new car and a WRX Wagon is at the top of my list.
Thanks for any comments, good or bad. Mark

I would reccomend Ann Arbor Subaru
My dad's bought 2 cars from them. My car he got for 5g less then what they wanted in the first place (it was used). One of my best friends parent's has bought cars from them for over 10 years. What they have alway's done is go in there (after scoping out a car (but I think they alway's buy used cars) with a check "filled out" and they have alway's taken it. And they offer several thousand below what the dealer wanted. My dad bought both from Walt. Not sure about my friends. And their Service department is the best ever (but only if you insist to talk to Lou, the manager).
Good Luck, Mike edit: I know they do have some WRX's don't know which models though. |

Yeah, just like MikeWRX said, don't go to the Livonia Subaru dealer. I have had very bad experiences with their sales people several times. Service dept is fine though.
Ann Arbor worked out good for me when I bought my RS. |

I bought my WRX from Yark Subaru in Toledo (1st allocation). It was by far the best buying experience I have ever had, and the service department is great. Damian (here on I-club) purchased his car from Yark as well. If you are interested pm me and I will send you the sales manager's email address. Just an FYI, they sell about 20-30% of their cars via internet sales/contacts. Plus the sales manager, Tim, knows his stuff.

I have mixed feelings about Ann Arbor, service wise, unless Lou helps you, as mentioned before. They made an error on my car before, so I in disgust I took it to Livonia, who treated me very well. When I told Lou that they had made the mistake, costing me a great deal of time and money, he sent me a check for 175$ to cover the work Livonia did. If you ever go to Livonia and need service, talk to Angie, she's pretty hip and will be very accomodating. From what I understand from Scoob and Subywan Kenobi, avoid Hodges at all costs, both took their cars in and had damage done to very expensive wheels. No one at Hodges would take any responsibility, and there are posts that talk about those experiences. Course, now that Hondaslayer works there, it may all change, for the better or for the worse, we don't know yet
Regardless, if you can look past the dirt lot at Ann Arbor, they gave me a hella deal on mine, and makua11b used to work there, so he could help you get an "in" maybe. Good luck, man- |

Im with lbk16 on this one. Thats where I got my subie from too. There excelent as far as customer service. Stas' sold me mine and he didn't have to twist my arm to much to get me in MY01. Also, Defcon Motorsports is right acrost the street. They know there subaru stuff! Oh yeah, Yark is in Toledo, OH. so ya know.

Thelen up here in Bay City has 2 WRX wagons. A silver auto and a red 5 spd. I bought mine there. I paid MSRP for it. They were trying to get $1k over it. I said no way though. They have the wagons marked at MSRP. Never know though.

I can vouch for Subie of Schaumburg. Yeah - I drove 5 hours as soon as I heard they had one in stock 'cause I couldn't wait for my ordered one to show up. Small price to pay for getting my Rex a month or two earlier. They took good care of me although it did take a couple of hours to complete the sale. Ann Arbor is alright to deal with, I had a good experience with one of the sales guys but can't remember his name. Good luck!

I got mine from Walt Ann Arbor. It's on the way so I cant remark on the service, although I appreciate the comments from other aboot Lou. I will rememebr that!
I got mine with the spoiler and it was under MSRP, thats with title and licence all that stuff. Yeah, but have fun with Lavonia and stuff, I plan to drive over there when I get mine. One of the many places I will go with the damned MDA that adds $$$ on...recockulus. |

I got mine from Hodges, like people say previous. I had a reasonable buying experience, apart from one time the woman forgot I was coming to pay for my car and left me standing around for an hour. She's since left. Other than that, it wasn't bad.
The downside was the service, when they marked my wheels with the powertool wrench. Next time I go I'll specifically ask for Hondaslayer to work on my car. That way, he can get a torque wrench on my lugnuts right 'Slayer?!!! |
