Anyone out today in their summer tires? I want to get out and play but I'm worried its too cold for the stock tires. Anyways...Merry Christmas! Stay safe out there.

I'm up north from there in Denton at the moment visiting family and it's tons of fun with the summer tires! I'm more worried about the people around here "trying" to slide on purpose (mainly all the kids up here with their parents camaro a or mustangs trying to be cool) and hitting someone or me. Or the people who drive super slow! -_- but be safe out there and merry Christmas everybody!!

Made it pretty good to my parents house. I'm more worried about the other drivers than anything. Hopefully I can get it home ok.

People were doing 25 on Central through Allen today. It wasn't that bad out.

Granted, I threw on my all seasons last night, so I had even more traction. But still. I saw so many death grips on steering wheels.

We got a light dusting in southern Denton County. Roads were still wet, we didn't get enough slush to make it any fun.

Continental DWS on a Lincoln LS with the TC off was fun, people were being pansies though, there was plenty of grip around here.

Then again, I'm used to driving on this stuff.

DW or DWS?

I have both on separate cars, the DWS (Dry Wet Snow) did perfectly well on a RWD Lincoln V8 earlier. Haven't taken out the Subaru with the DW ones today... yet anyway, but I imagine that could be a bit slippery.

Luckily I only had a 15 minute drive, but yes they do seem to be getting worse.

It's like that everywhere in Plano. Someone just ate the retaining wall behind my alley pretty hard about thirty minutes ago off of 15th and Independence. I salted my driveway and alley area and it's spotless now, but the roads are complete crap.

EDIT: And here's my car after the hour and a half drive home from my parents' ranch. After looking at the grille it's no wonder if was running hot...

I think whenever I upgrade my wheels, I'll get a set of all weathers for my existing rims. I'm sure I won't get full use of them but they'll be nice to have in times like these.

I miss a little fun in the snow, but overall I'm glad I don't have to do much of it again soon. When I had winter tires on my Legacy GT Wagon I was the boss the day after the blizzard in Chicago.
