I recommend 2 things:
1) Offer the piping as a separate item. You'll definitely get some business. 2) Offer more than one turbo option, or offer the kit minus the turbo. Not everybody wants to drag race. Personally I think all the kits currently out there use turbos that are too big.

Well we definetely would want to offer at least 1 threw 3 stages if possible and usually would. stage 1 being a good all around stage for stock motor and good low end, someone looking for a mild setup, also something that can be boosted. Stage 2 bigger turbo stock motor possibly and someone with more aggressive mods, also someone maybe wanting to boost higher once a motor is built. Stage 3 well that would be rarely sold and would be for someone looking for big power with a built motor with low compression pistons etc. all 3 kits would utilize the same structure, be somewhat swapable etc. That would definetely be the way to go. As far as R&D we have at least 2-3 people interested and we would like to do before and after test's and of course offer piping options (considering stainless steel, normal steel, and then steel/coating options) also we would look into other options that would help. Really whatever the market will require is what we would want to offer. Right now there are just some simple design specs being considered as well as marketing questions and seeing what customers want. Also is there a request for a new header or the request to use the stocker etc. Things like that, I think I'll check out the tech section and see what they say as well.
Thanks |

Any chance of you offering it with the option of a header, or a inhouse design that is better quality then the Borla? I heard too many things about the Borla not fitting the car, then it was the welds breaking. Also offering different kinds of turbos to suit what the owners are looking for. Like making the option of a T28, T3/T4 or even a small T25 for those who are just looking to have more power without increasing any stress to the car. Offering a intercooler with the Stage1 would be nice for those of us not looking for the high hp numbers of the stage2's. I am only looking for a water cooled T28 ball bearing. Then again the custom ceramic turbos off of the Evo would be cool. Basically don't charge us high prices and offer good customer service. The customer service alone will get you buyers. Rallispec has proven that.

2.5 RS Turbo Kits Interest/questions/feedback
This is Nero at Powerhouse Racing. I've been seeing a lot of 2.5RS turbo kit questions and wants from a few steady customers of mine and wanted to discuss it with the board. Apparenlty there is a time issue with delivery. We feel that if a turbo kit is made in house there should not be a delay of more then 4 weeks to deliver a turbo kit. That being said if we had a turbo kit and it sold well we would keep at least 1 kit on the shelf at all times. A lot of turbo kits are being made or produced. We hear at Powerhouse Racing are turbo specialist's and think that we may be able to improve upon the kits that are out there already or maybe make a few differences. Please email me if your interested in a kit at [email protected] We would expect the kit to be very competitively priced with the rest of the kits, but also we may offer a higher end model/options that would of course cost more.

Nero you can see all the debates and ideas we are having in the tech forum. Maybe you can elaborate more on the subject. BTW hey competition can only drop prices and raise quality so I say of course we need more of this.

Nero,
Since many members of this board already own either a JCS or Minnam kit, maybe you could offer upgrades to those kits in addition to developing your own kit. I think offering upgrades to JCS or Minnam is the better route since all you would have to do is improve on an existing platform. |
