Default Wagon for sure

Definitely want to see the wagon back, but a 2 door version also would not be a bad idea.

Dear Subaru of America/Japan:

What part of "WE WANT A SLEEK, SPORT COMPACT, OFF-ROAD WORTHY, OBNOXIOUS SOUNDING, RALLY INSPIRED CAR WITH 300HP STANDARD FOR THE NEXT 100 YEARS," did you guys not understand correctly?

"Everyone wants a SUV or wagon" -- No they do not. Millions upon millions of Camry's, Accords, Civics, Corollas, BMW 3 series, Audi a3 - a5 sportbacks, infiniti q60s, kia k5s, Hyundai's, etc, All vehicles that aim for fuel efficiency and Competitively Quick, sport-tuned "Spirited Driving". So no, not everyone wants a Bland-Sideways-Egg shaped vehicle.

-Those lithium Batteries are heavy. The weight actually kills its own MPG capabilities, The range on them makes for a vehicle that is NOT travel worthy. And then you're spending 30-1.5hrs while your vehicle charges adding to your travel time (THATS IF THERES NO WAIT LINE TO CHARGE). 230 miles per full charge, is not appealing in the sense that I would need to wait an 30min-2hrs just to get back on the road.

-US Energy Infrastructure Can't even keep up with current electricity demands. Every summer they impose Added Electricity charges on top of bills when households do not follow the "Summer-time Energy use Schedule." This means, as we head into the future of more electric cars, Energy companies will be burning MORE coal and oil just to satiate Population Energy needs.

-You're better off Throwing a Highly efficient Solar roof panel behind the moonroof (Without making the car square or box-like - Dont be like that), just to justify the known Power problems (like consistent brown-outs in CA) Americans deal with in the Summer.

-Lithium mining is both Expensive and Toxic to the earth. We currently cannot dispose of used Batteries efficiently (We can, but it is, again very expensive). Not only that, this spells doom for the Avg Consumer, when the vehicle is no longer under warranty and they have to buy a New Battery for their 8year old Subaru. You need to develop something else, like a Solid state battery. The avg consumer is not a electrician or mechanic, but with the age of electric cars also comes the age of a person not being able to fix their vehicle at home or for cheaper if it is years down the road and they need to get their car repaired at a non Subaru Certified repair center because of life situation.

-Like the Mach-E, the STI is (Supposed to be) the top of the Subaru Line up in Performance. That "Spirited driving" by consumers will drain those batteries fast, and you will experience the complaints of buyers stating their MPGe's Fail to compare to factory figures (Not Everyone Lives at Sea-Level). We will also see Batteries having to be replaced earlier than anticipated due to the lead foot of the previous owner = Newer used car, person buys with no warranty, and will now be having to pay for a re-up on the battery at full market price (Not the case for everyone but this will be the case for some as we already see it with the Plug-in Crosstrek). Or will Subaru be offering a special used car E-vehicle warranty for the battery that can be purchased separate?

We get Head Unit problems consistently, especially with this new 11.6in screen. Customers stating the cold weather affects audio output, blank screens, frozen screens for 2 start ups and then works at the end of the day -> Things like these make me question the ability of the vehicle to be taken into the wilderness for a couple days and enjoyed. You would have to bring a gas generator which is currently banned from being purchased in CA, just to charge your... "Outdoor/dependable Subaru" while camping or adventuring out on the trails. I realize that these specific cases will be far and few, however, The Subaru WRX STI is not a pavement street only vehicle that vaping kids treat it as. It was modeled after an off-road racing vehicle (EMPHASIS ON THE OFF ROAD RACING PART).

In any case, these concerns boggle many people's mind with this decision on electrifying the STI.

It doesn't matter How many "Other brands' are offering Electric Cars. Our Infrastructure is BEHIND. And Americans like to travel, your customer base is Often the outdoor enthusiast. NOT and short range mall-cruiser. You can make those, but keep it SEPARATE from your supposed PERFORMANCE LINE.

Hey Subaru take what Russ said above delete the part about off road worthy and give us the Subaru WRX, paints that plastic cladding to match the body, call it a special edition or whatever but paint it. I don:t need an off road worthy car, don:t want one. I own a 2013 WRX it is no no way off road worthy with stock suspension, it is barely road worthy when pothole season hits. But the WRX is a simple formula turbo, manual 4 doors all wheel drive and affordable. Do that.

Ha, I guess this is the guy Subaru mis-heard when developing the VB WRX.

We want what SoNE did as a CRUEL and WICKED April fools joke, taunting us fans... Baja Wilderness Turbo. Just that. One trim of the Baja. Or, two versions, Wilderness with the 2.5, and one with the 2.4T. This is the way.

I have spoken.

That looks so fantastic to me.

But what about a Baja based on the Ascent?

I think the proportions are off. The Ascent would be tall and slab sided. The Baja is short, small, maneuverable.

True, true. That Baja render would be more affordable too.

Screw that. I want the 5000 tow and extra space. And I'll pay for it.

Subaru NA, I want a WR Blue wrx without the ugly black plastic, no moonroof, Bilsteins, brembo or willwood brake package and cut the over all weight of the car to 3200 pounds or less. So no power seats, and a few other tweaks to get the weight down.
