I'm #16 and I don't see myself affording an ST for at least a year.

They don't even display member numbers, how can we rag on 3 digit newbs in a few months?

I call dibs on the wheels. I really hate the 16 inchers that came with the sport package. At least I'm finally installing some new springs this week so it should be marginally better looking/more fun to drive.

If I were buying new in this segment, I would very highly consider the Focus ST. I test drove one last week and it was really nice. It was a base model, standard seats, no frills and I really did enjoy the test drive. I think the shifter felt a little...lost? But otherwise solid. That's pretty much my only complaint about the car - other than the pretty busy gauge cluster. The exhaust note is really quite nice, especially when you're revving it out.

I'm anxious to see some real comparisons between the MS3 and the ST (not that Road & Track trash).

R&T is trash because the superior MS3 didn't win?

Seems like they didn't same day, back to back testing, and driving on the same roads. How exactly is that trash?

No, the article was just crap. 3 door GTI to compare to 5 doors, obvious swooning over the ST, obfuscated scoring system.

Did you not read the entire first part of my post?

I don't know if I can get over torque steer. Last time I drove the original MS3 it felt small and clunky.

Can we all just admit that for what we had hoped the st would be (the clear choice for hatch lovers in this price range) it's a bit disappointing? Its quick enough but from from revolutionar. Except Tue gas mileage, throw that into the mix and I'm a little more impressed.

What's disappointing about it? That it doesn't have 300+hp?

I'm pretty happy with the specs and reviews. It would be my top choice if I was in the market for that class car.

Then again Ford needs to make sure this car is finished and not start with the recalls in a few months.
