Default '08+STi and '15 WRX exhaust compatibility

These are both hatchbacks.

Theoretically, would the 2015 WRX exhaust fit a 2008 STi?

Aren't they both 2.5"?

Are there major differences between the 2 stock exhaust systems (STi vs WRX)with flow restrictions, baffling, resonator size etc...

Anybody have ideas or experience?

I've searched here and elsewhere and found some pertinent info but nothing definitive.

A 2015 WRX a hatchback; are you trolling?

The difference most likely have more to do with routing and hanger locations than anything else. I doubt they are interchangeable

Oh s**t....d'oh..

I was browsing CL looking for an oem exhaust and didn't even realize that.

Just assuming the ad had a typo and it was supposed to be a 2014 wrx, I checked subaru genuine parts and all the exhaust components have the same part #'s between the 2014 wrx and the 08 sti.

Was wanting to see if anybody had done this type of exhaust "downgrade".

The only differences between 08-14 (aftermarket)exhausts are due to the differences between the hatchback and sedan.

That's kind of what I thought, I was just curious as to whether or not there was differences in baffling/restriction/backpressure etc..

This thought was born out of the fact that, essentially, I sometimes get a little burnt out on the drone/cabin noise from my Cobb TBE.

Don't get me wrong, it sounds great on throttle etc.., but sometimes in stop and go 5pm traffic it gets a little old and I wanted to look at cheap options. Yeah..yeah..I know why not just buy a Camry...

https://raleigh.craigslist.org/pts/d...735217946.html

Found this one for $100 while other used STi specific oem exhausts are $400

Thanks for the offer, but I'm looking for everything from the midpipe back. I'd like to be able to get the Grimspeed adapter to be able to still used my catted Cobb DP with the OEM catback.

Plus, shipping would be $$$.
