Default 2008 Outback 3.0R

Just purchased my 7th Subaru, 6th Outback, 4th H6.

Really like the Gen Outback as it's good looking, a good size, has the VTD drive system, and the EZ30D motor. 5EAT.

The 05-07 have aluminum hood and tailgate. But the 08-09 facelift went back to steel.

Have my usual list of upgrades: Kenwood Excelon radio/gps; WeatherTech floor mats; ceramic tint; LED fog tail and brake lights. At some point we will install Rallitek springs and new KYB struts. Going to look into an LED light bar tied to the high beams.

Ordered some BBS forged JDM wheels from overseas. The stock wheels have new winter tires so they'll go back on in November.

Not a particular fan of gold: it was just the only nice H6 I could find.

Sweet ride. Is the tailgate different for the 3.0R vs the 2.5l cars? My 2008 2.5i definitely has the AL tailgate; the paint aged differently and it's much lighter than my previous Outback.

This body style is really the last Outback that I like; they became too trucky in 2010 and have only gotten more so in recent years (not to mention the CVT has removed any fun from the vehicle).

How many miles does yours have? I'm about to hit 256k on mine, though it's being replaced shortly.

This 08 has an aluminum tailgate (as does our 05) but the hood is steel. The 05 has an aluminum hood.

Ordered these wheels off eBay. They are forged BBS 17x7 and weigh 15.9 lbs each. JDM for a CrossTrek, I think.
