Exclamation Holy Resale Value Batman!!

So checking out the Autotrader.com I noticed that the resale value on the RS seemingly has gone UP.

There are a bunch of RS's with 20-30k miles listed for ~$20k. WooT!!!!

Bear in mind offered price and sold price are quite different in most cases. I don't understand why anyone would pay ~$20k for a used RS when the new ones can be bought for under that and Morrette-ed to fix the biggest issue many people have with the car...

I like the older body style too, but to a point. When new the GC8 was barely over $20k, right? If I were selling and could find a sucker to pay $20k i would though.

They were right around $20k. Give or take depending on options and dealer add-ons.

But they do have a lot of features that the '02's don't. Which is one reason they're maintaining value.

That, and they are rarer, too, I think. I don't know how many MY02 2.5RS's sold, but I know that there where more WRX's sold in thier first year as compared to all 4 years of the old-school RS. Old=school: lighter, better looking, becoming more rare, factory sunroof, and available with just 2 doors. I think it will hold it's resale value quite nicely as time goes by and Subarus continue to grow in popularity. Now, if I just get my fender fixed, that will help, too. Not that I'm going to sell it, of course, just nice to keep it's value up!

You're right,

I've noticed it too. Seems like they've jumped about $2500 +. I believe that it has also become alot more dependent on geographical area. I'm sure I could sell my car down here in Miami for about $2000 over book value with no problem.
