Default Best way to remove center console?

I'm installing a short shifter today and need to pry this thing off somehow.

It's a combination of prying and unscrewing. If you don't feel like doing a search here, there's some good instruction on scoobymods.com for some other mods that require its removal. It's pretty simple and you can tell what needs to be done as you're doing it, just take your time.

6Pack is right, scoobymods.com will probably have the answer. The removal of the center console for the GC8 and GDA chassis cars are pretty similar. You have to unscrew and dismantle the console starting from the arm rest section and remove each piece sequentially moving up towards the stereo in order to expose the shifter plate and swap out your shifter.

trying to take off the armrest section only left me with a gouge that is luckily out of sight. i simply started from the shiftboot area, just reach in and pull up on the piece until the clips pop off. then work your way back. thats the easiest way i've found to do it. some people pull out the ebrake portion first

hope that helps,

Search the scoobymods.com site. The WRX and RS are different. No screws for the WRX just tugging.
