Default no cabin filter in bugeye

so i got curious and looked under the glove box to see what the filter looked like. and there was no filter in there. do the 02 wrx's not have the cabin filters. its the same setup as my sti and it has it. just curious because i might need to buy another filter.

i think the had them originally, but i lost mine during a service at the dealer. after a certain point, they were no longer used

My '03 didn't have a Cabin Filter in there. I was amazed to see that when I went to change it a few months ago. Glad I have one in there now. You can get it on eBay for pretty cheap from AirCabinMan or something like that.

I believe in 02-03s they were only an option and if you chose no then you wouldn't get one lol.

Ya - get them off ebay from AirCabinMan for dirt cheap!

I have a 04 and my car did not have one either. From what I have read, it is a dealer installed option so alot of cars dont have one.

02 didn't come with one, but you can put one in. From 05 up they include them i think. I replace mine every 6 months.

Yeah, it was a $75 option from the dealer to toss a filter in there. I found that out because I was lucky enough to get the original window sticker from the first owner, and I'm the third.

^^^^ ....I bought mine new back in '02. I opted to buy my cabin filter seperately (along with a few of the other options) and install myself. ....filter, auto dimming mirror, alarm, arm rest extension, etc. It was much cheaper that way.
