Default what to get when leaky head gasket replaced at dealer?

I searched, and found out all about the Phase2 EJ25 engine external coolant leak from the head gasket. I just experienced it with my MY02 Impreza TS Luckily, I drained a little oil from my Fumoto valve, it is not milky or cloudy at all, so I believe the coolant has not leaked into my oil... also, coolant levels are a little below the low mark on the coolant expansion tank, but barely... I added a little distilled water to bring it up to the safe zone.

Have appt with dealer tomorrow, know all about the extended warranty if you have had the Subaru Coolant Conditioner added to your coolant before 5/04... so I *should* be covered by this extended warranty, as I have 45K miles, and had my coolant serviced by dealer on 10/1/03 (conditioner added according to repair slip).

It looks like it leaked from the underside of my passenger side head gasket (dirty where it leaked, and dried coolant residue on exhaust headers right below it).

I have concerns about a few things...

1. My other head gasket may give out shortly... will they replace it now? If not, should I ask them to, possibly pay for it myself?

2. They added conditioner in 10/03... my head gasket is leaking externally... are they going to try to do the same thing and hope it works again (isn't that a working definition of insanity?)

3. Are the OEM head gaskets improved, or is this a ticking time bomb waiting to happen in another 45k miles?

4. Is there any other preventative maintenance I should spring for if they're pulling the engine now? I figure, if they're pulling the engine, should I take advantage of it now?

Any advice on these points would be much appreciated... thanks!
