![]() I recently had my car stolen (2004 USDM WRX) and foolishly left my Cobb APv3 in the glovebox, and they took that (had it blacklisted by Cobb). So i had a new motor installed recently, a JDM EJ205, which i found out recently that these non-avcs are just older ej205's from japan;
My question is, until i can afford to buy a new Cobb AP3, my ECU is stuck on a Stage 1, the OTS tune i had on it before it was stolen. So i pulled the motor swapped the cam gears, right side head and put my old intake manifold on. It runs fine, idles great and is building boost pretty well (only hitting 11-12). I plan to get a new Cobb AP in the future, but until then is this tune going to do any damage to my engine? I take it easy, never really going over 4k RPM, and it even feels a lot better than my old engine

![]() it all depends. I know that you cant reinstall a cobb if a cobb is already installed on it

![]() If you have a police report to document that your AP was stolen Cobb may work with you on the price for a new one. Contact them and ask.

![]() Yeah thats kinda why im bummed about it being stuck. They took my stock air box that was in the trunk too, but i do have the COBB SF intake, which i believe is appropriate for the Stage 1. I just dont know if its bad to run this on here, or if i essentially have the same motor now since i put the cam gears and intake manifold on it

![]() Get the opentactrix cable and use ecuflash to tune it yourself, or pay someone online for an etune. All you need is the cable and a windows laptop.
