Made a bet with one of the techs at Subaru that I would NOT mod my BRZ and there's money on the line... One of my excuses for buying it is that it's stock and I've grown wary of the mod game with my WRX so I told everyone that I was planning to keep it stock as long as I owned it. So I'll have to live vicariously through you ;-) |

I'm thinking FI on a swap, but not on the stock motor. |

Yea I'm thinking if Subaru didn't do it then its not meant to be. I'm gonna go with a full exhaust system, intake, light weight pulley and light weight flywheel on a 93 octane tune.

i'm not a power junky. so i'll deal with what i have. you can always add power and i'm in no rush to go back into the world of unreliability and boost
so i had ordered a roll of alcantara and 1/8' foam because i knew that i wanted to get rid of all of that ugly silver trim. i spend all night wrapping it all and this might have been one of the trickiest intalls I've ever had to do simply because this was my first time and wrapping curves and corners is incredibly hard. i now understand why JPM coach works stitches in the places they do. this isn't easy but i'm beyond happy with the results. i'll post some real pictures later, here are some cellphone snaps. i wrapped the silver dash pieces, the trim by the AC controls, the shifter surround, the steering wheel plastic, the circle vents, and also the door handles. |

update 3:
i dont have the time to snap good photos, sorry but these quick cellphone snaps will have to do. today i rebadged the trunk, got rid of that damn chrome fender trim, swapped ALL bulbs to led and then hooked up the JDM rear foglight. the trim is mint and for sale if anyone is interested. |

Does that come off pretty easily? I was considering removing mine, but had a feeling I'd bend the crap out of it.

hit it with a heat gun and just pull it off. as long as the tape it warm it will peel right off.

how much you want for the trim pieces? I might make a splash and knock some carbon ones out.

These kind of look like the stockers painted white. What wheels are those? I finally removed my badges today, too. Most likely will reposition the "BRZ" lower like the Toyota/Scion. We'll see what Photoshop has to say about it. |

haha! I do that all the time on here. Jive, loving the WRX wheels. Ironic since I'm about to put some on mine, unpainted, because it's supposed to be clear for a bit before the snow falls again and I'm hating having these winter wheels on.

I hate how they look. Mainly because they are white. Hate white.

Jive, just curious how you feel about the switch from the sti to the brz. I currently have a stage 1 ish 11 wrx, And have been looking at a brz. I'm sort of addicted to the torque that the turbo brings so I am thinking the brz might not be enough power.

I had a "Stage 2" 2011 WRX sedan. I will admit that I miss some of the pull and confidence that the WRX could bring. However, the BRZ IS quick and it drives very predictably. Honestly, if you can sacrifice the room and handling is your thing and you want to be able to make your car "turn" a corner at low speeds, the BRZ is all win.
If you're stoplight racing pretty much ANY car and you like doing that, you will miss the WRX, trust me. The BRZ is a discipline, though. It's kind of nice knowing that you can't "beat" some other cars. You know that you're enjoying something more. You can't put a price on that. I hate/love that it looks fast, because it's not fast. It's just quick. Yet, quick is enough for most of us when all is said and done. |
