Hello, everyone. I didn't order one, but I found one on a lot yesterday. 2013 hatch. So I drove it and placed a deposit immediately

I just took it. Didn't want to risk waiting 3-4 month for it. will post up pic
when I get a chance and to those that still waiting..hang in there because
is worth it. TGIF

Ok update:

Ordered 10/3
Von 10/5
3 week mark 10/26 (today)

Called salesman at subaru of gwinnett, asked him for an update, he ran a pipeline report in subarunet and saw no change from a status of "ordered".
This was not to my satisfaction I told him (pretending I knew nothing of the process) and I wanted to know if my car had been built or not, if I was going to be given something already on allocation for this region, or what the deal is.

I also politely reminded him that this is the 2nd BRAND NEW subaru i will be buying from him within 60 days..... and that i'm a VIP corporate customer... and that he gets all his used car valuation from my company bla bla blaaaa.

Verdict? He got his new car sales manager involved, who I already knew and spoke with extensively about my STi when I was buying my wifes 2013 impreza last month, and she is going to call the regional distribution manager, who SHOULD know this information.

My 97 tacoma isn't going to keep rolling much longer without some major $$$ investments, which are pointless for me to make, and I CANNOT be without a vehicle or I can kiss my career goodbye.
Some of you may think i'm being a big impatient moron, but my circumstances are slightly unique I guess, and my dealership knew that so i'm just leaning on these facts to get some traction.

If you can't afford to wait the 8-10 weeks why not just buy one off the lot?

No limited STI sedans anywhere in the southeast on a lot.

I can afford to wait, but only if the specified 8-10 weeks IS what i'm going to wait.
This thread and other factors has led me to believe otherwise, i'm just seeking facts from them.

I have no idea where you are in the SE, but Bryan in New Orleans has a WRB limited sedan showing *in transit*.

Ha! I was born @ lakeside hospital in Metarie, lived in Chalmette till I was 12.
Long way from there now though, i'm in Atlanta these days.

I'll just wait, but not for too much longer that's for sure.

Man there you are being pesimistic again There are people that got their car 3-4 weeks after they ordered so you aren't without hope. But yeah it does suck if your current car break down before your STi comes.

Not sure if your dealer does this, but if your car does break down before your STi gets in you should see if you can get a loaner car in the meantime. I would think if you start your payments they could work something out for you.

I placed an order for an STI last weekend. They told me 8-10 weeks and I put
$500 deposit down (non-refund able). Note I am also trading in my 2009 Legacy GT. I got a very good deal, no complaints on the price.

Last night I found my exact car at another dealership. I called the dealer that I placed my order with and he said they don't often do deals because dealers do not like to trade out their alloted STIs and will ask for a premium.

My idea, I take my invoice to the dealer with the STI and say if you can beat this price by $500 dollars I will buy the car now (with trade-in) and cash difference.

The original dealer will keep the $500 dollar deposit and I will get the new car for $500 dollars cheaper at the new dealers. For me it is a push.

==================

So I gave the local dealer a call to see what he could do and he will call me back.

I find it AMAZING that there are so many WRX/STIs sitting on other dealers lots, but they will NOT trade each other. I guess they assume that they can sell the car for more than the trade. Anyway - I will know more tomorrow.
The dealer called me this morning and said that it looks good and it may get done. He will try to finalize it tomorrow.

This is a little tricky because I am trading in TWO cars (Subaru) for TWO NEW Subaru. It's getting a little wacky, but he thinks he can pull off this 4 way deal.

Crossing fingers. Should know tomorrow. The dealer called me this morning and said that it looks good and it may get done. He will try to finalize it tomorrow.

Well he could get one, but not the other.
So it doesn't look like it is happening...

To a point. I talk to our regional distribution folks often and until the ship is real close, they don't know much either. They typically have to email their contacts in Cherry Hill to find out the deep down stuff. That is what happened on our Forester we are waiting for.

So it turns out It's a good thing I changed my mind and picked up the black one that came in yesterday. It turns out the one I ordered got delayed. Ordered toward the end of August. Was scheduled for December delivery. It was postponed, so I assume at least January.

Just got word from the dealer that they'll have a DGM 5door coming in on 11/9.

Options I ordered:
Armrest Extension, Fog lights, STS(removed during the wait)

Options on this one:
STS, Sub, STi Exhaust Tips

Not sure if I want to trade out...I can probably get the extensions and the fog-lights separately though.

Out with the old, but I must admit I'm going to miss the old girl. She's been good to me.

In with the new.

Finally in the driveway.

I've got about 50 miles on her right now, but it's been a long day, and I'm tired, and gonna lay on the couch. Tomorrow is a new day.

May want to inquire with your salesman on this one, but I've been through this order process several times. 99' RS, 02' WRX, 04' STi, 06' 2.5i, and Finally 13' WRX. Orders are sent to the factories once at the end of each month. I ordered the 2013 WRX on 9/28 to make sure the order got in, otherwise it wouldn't be sent until the end of October.

Since you ordered on 10/3......you may want to see if this true with your dealer. Maybe different regions work differently, I don't know. I have a delivery date of Mid to late November.

No car till now Hollywood?! Dang that sounds pain for me, physically. I have the car for about a week now and I already hit 810 miles, first 500 travel to Wisconsin varying rev 2000~4000 no WOT at all. Two days ago I tend to rev up north 4000 rpm a bit and hit 4500 today in 2nd gear when passing a chicken, car seems accelerate faster than when I got it and it just rev up so quickly at same throttle position. And yes I am in Auto+S mode this would give me a bit richer AFR over 3000 rpm, somehow safer imo.

And NAVI is great, may not as handy as a Garmin but function well enough. Not found any "speed-camera" features yet nor the manual mentioned it. I like the build quality and OEM console look a lot. Aftermarket headunit always looks ricy to me regardless how premium the unit is. Cosmetic upgrade almost done and start to put safety feature to avoid engine issue in within a month.

If you feel depressed, I would like to share some random pics during my break-in and hope your car was built now.

(Umbra tint and clear-bra, brian is in action)

And congratulations to those ETA 10/8, keep holding on to those still waiting, inceptivation to those just ordered!
