Why did you buy your sedan rather than the hatch?
This is not to be a 'which is better" thread (they're both great). But specifically why you chose the sedan?
I am so much in the camp of the hatch, for both the cargo room, and for what I believe is sportier yet classy styling, and can't see any purpose for the sedan. Not judging, just me. So, do you like the styling better of the sedan or for some other reason didn't want the hatch? EDIT: I really didn't want to know why people got the wagon, that's kind of obvious - looks and utility. I'm really wanting to hear from sedan owners. But I guess this is open to everyone.

You can't easily hide dead bodies in the back of a hatch, that's the only downside I've noticed.

Always wanted a 04/05 STi sedan since I was about 10 years old and always told myself I'm going to have one. Well 8 years later I got my dream car!

Hatch was the only thing available in my area. I wasn't really one side or the other, I just wanted a WRX. When my car popped up I jumped on it. I absolutely love the utility of the hatch.
Nothin better than stuffing 4 wheels with tires in there as well as a full sized jack and 4 stands. |

I think the original bugeye wrx sedans is what i fell in love with a long time ago. And when i could afford to buy one, i wanted to buy something newer, and the closest thing to my once dream car.
Hatches...i dont know...i know when your inside of one, you dont really notice a difference, but i always feel more cramped. I had a 95 civic hatch before for a few months, and i think that may have made me completely biased towards hatches. I always felt like a giant inside of one of those tiny Italian cars, any time i was in the civic. In the future, unless i really needed the hatch space for something on a regular basis, i would stick with the sedan if/when i buy another one. |

I have terrible taste and a psychological condition that makes me pee my pants when I can fit snowboards and skis in my car.

I prefer the look of the sedan and there's not that much more useful room in the trunk since the backseats don't fold down flat. New 5 doors/hatchbacks have a boy racer feel combined with an old man's station wagon feel for me. Hahaha

I originally bought a 2012 wrx hatch for the utility and extra space for me and my 3year old son.
Plus I love to camp and all that jazz. But I never really used it.. I used my rack, basket, and cargo box more. So I traded it in for a 2013 STi limited. I got the sedan cause to me it looks better, and I have no need for all the "extra" space. I still get the same utility for the fact the rear seats fold down and that is enough. |

I didn't like the looks of the hatches. They seemed too long for their own good,or maybe it just looked like that because it didn't have enough angles on the body design, maybe its just me. But to be honest. Im down for the new 08+ hatches. I think they look great. But for Pre-08. Sedans. Just for the aesthetic value.

How can you not love the big park bench for a spoiler on the sti. Hands down just for looks. Hatches remind me of my first 1990 camry station wagon

I bought the sedan because I like the look of it better and it stays "cooler" inside compared to a hatch in the summer time.
Also a hatch can get confused with a Mazda speed 3 so I did not want to have someone take a double take thinking it was a Mazda... Lame but true |

To me, I'd only get the STi as a sedan. I grew up remembering that hoodscoop and that big wing. That's just me, when I hear STI, I think Sedan. When I hear WRX, I think Wagon ( Hatchback for third gen )

I originally wanted a hatch for the utility, but I just felt the sedan looks so much better. I also feel the sedan looks a bit more "grown up" than the hatch. The hatches, I think, have the boy racer look to them more than the sedans.

-I prefer sedans to hatches/wagons in general.
-I originally fell in love with the bugeye sedan. -I didn't want anyone looking at my cargo/speaker setup. Still sorta wish I had bought the hatch anyway. Love them both. |
