Like ryce said usually Target Thursdays around 9. We were going to hit chipotle in Wayne but looks like that might be a bust.

I love this car. I have a C7Z for the weekend but honestly i am really happy driving the subie for the daily. It's awesome.

I only have 2 complaints.

The tire noise (might switch to continentals) and of course the infamous, REV HANG. I HATE IT SO MUCH.

I literally have to granny shift from 1st to 2nd. It's annoying.

I live in Hackensack and am interested in finding a tuner or shop who can work on my car.. Can you guys recommend any shops? Even if its just something "simple" like changing the plugs.. Some shops around me dont want to touch a car that's been modified.

Yea the Cobb maps gets rid of that Rev hang, I'm running a etune from Clark turner on the second revision and love it so much more no Rev hang and takes off like a rocket with a smooth throttle.

Hi all, saw the Jersey city post and had to read. Worked in North Bergen for 25 years. Upstate NY now. Just got a 2018 WRX. I have searched and from what I ve seen the Cobb tunes do not eliminate that nasty rev hang. Even A cobb s vid(utube) about rev hang shows it doesn t, I don t know. The only annoying thing I ve found in the first 800 miles.
You guys need more upstate NY drives, way upstate. Two lane curvy roads, lots of fun and no traffic. Enjoy!

I got my AP this week. But i didn't install the tune yet. Going to install it tomorrow and will post back. It is very hard to balance between keeping warranty and tolerating the rev hang and sporadic boost spikes which doesn't make acceleration smooth or just taking a chance and installing the tune and making the car livable on a daily.

To be honest subaru itself doesn't have the greatest warranty, it's a 3year/36k mile. Overall with weekly checks and regular maintenance the car should be running like a champ for a long time. They can't void your warranty unless they find that whatever you changed actually caused the issue they can deny it, but one could fight it unless they have hard evidence and facts.

I don't know what I was thinking about, but Yea your right, but like I said regular maintenance and bi-weekly checks on your car should be able to keep your car in tip top shape. I tend to check my car every week is kinda a habit I got from the army, was driver/mechanic so knew the in outs of the truck. after 11 years checking your truck twice a day becomes a natural habit.

Well can't go back now. Flashed the stage 1 tune about 2 weeks ago.

Car is definitely more livable now although the rev hang is still there, mainly in the 1-2 shift. It's not as bad as before but still there. The turbo lag does kinda suck now though lol. Factory tune the car pulls like crazy from low rpm's. Now it feels like full boost happens somewhere after 3k.

Also i noticed a slight hesitation on slight slight throttle in 3rd and 4th gear. Almost like slight surging. This is after the stage 1 flash. Not sure if the car still needs to relearn but it's already been 200 miles since i flashed it. The surging isn't bad but it's noticeable. Just think like you're driving on the highway and it's really windy out and you can feel the car being pushed a little side to side. That's the feeling i'm getting with power under slight throttle. It's like it's cutting in and out just a little bit.

I been putting shell 93 octane so it's not the gas.

Other than that, love the car.

I have issues with shell gas before and BP as well, when I went with sunoco those issues went away. I'm not saying anything bad about the other company just stating my personal opinion, also have a friend with 2017 focus RS who had the same issues and once he changed over he hardly had knock and any timing issues

I had the opposite problems. The one time i filled up my vette with sunoco 93, my gas gauge took a crap and read only 1/4 full even though the tank was full to the top. I had to take road trips for 2 weekends to get rid of the gas.

Put a bottle of techron and back with shell 93 and never had that issue since.

Btw the reason why i had to fill with sunoco that one time was because my shell gas station was doing construction by the entrance/exit so i couldn't get gas that week.

I always been using shell 93 in all my cars/bikes. Never had an issue.
