Default 04 4EAT to 6MT

So I'm finally starting a project that I've been sitting on for many years, swapping my auto wrx to a sti 6 speed. Let me start off by saying I have no interest in selling the car to get a manual to save any hassle. The car has great sentimental value to me and I'll be keeping it.
I know that people have done this swap but I'm having trouble finding a detailed parts list on going 6mt vs 5mt.
Any input will help! I'll be starting to source out parts soon so I want to know exactly what to look for.

Clutch,
Flywheel,
Slave cylinder,
Pedals,
Shifter linkages,
Shifter surround,
Re-use the auto propshaft for the 6mt,
Matching rear diff,
Starter motor,
New bolts for flywheel and bellhousing (not essential but wise)
Possibly a new pitch stop mount (May be different lengths depending on your box)
Axles should be the same.
Wiring diagrams,
More wiring diagrams,
Some different wiring diagrams,

Thanks for the parts list! Question about the rear dif though. I see alot of people use either the r160 or r180. Which would be better do you think? I'd like to keep the stock 5×100 lug pattern. I was planning on a different brake kit than brembos anyway

As far as I know the r180 has thicker axles so needs different hubs meaning 5x114.3

The r160 is the same so no need to change axles or hubs.

Subaru being Subaru it is entirely possible that there was a compatible 180 made at some point and, of course, an incompatible r160 - I’m sure that someone will be along with more diff knowledge than I.

I’m running an r160 with no issue (mine was a 5MT swap) and mechanically it was simple enough. The wiring was a bit more challenging but it’s all good now.

What year is your car? Drop me a pm with your email address and I can send on the wiring guide I put together if it’s similar model to your own.

Sorry - meant to add - make sure the diff ratio is compatible with your gearbox - 3.90, 4.11, 4.44 etc

To add on to Fozymandias

You dont need a different pitch stop

You do need a different gauge cluster though.

Good luck it is possible. I did a 4eat to 6mt and have no issues. Everything works.

Nice, what year? And what did you use for the shifter boot/trim? What cluster did you use?
