Hello,
MRT cannot sell the Motec kit here in the US. MoTeC sells a complete package, including personalized customer service. So, in the US, their required pricing is in the $3500 price neighborhood for the exact same product that MRT sells for like $1500 in Australia. If MRT was to sell that same unit here, I believe, but do not know for sure, that MoTeC would require them to charge the full $3500... Joel |

Hello,
I thought Alan had yet to set up a MoTeC that worked. "You have to be a freaking rocket scientist to use this thing" was what he said last year... And since then he's had several blown engines... But he may have finally learned how to use it. That doesn't change the price of it Joel |

We can supply you with a Motec M4 or a 48. The price starts at $2500 US.
We already have MAPs for EJ2.5s, EJ2.2s and EJ2.0s. They work great and have the most options available. The hard and expensive part of these kits is the mapping of the fueling and the ignition. We have already done the R&D and have base MAPs to make it less painful. Response to my buddy JOEL, If we don't do the R&D, who else will. You, the customers wouldn't like us to test on your cars, engines, would you. It sure as heck wont be Joel on the rental cars . To find out more about them we have to take our own engines to their limit, finding out what they like, or don't to make power. And after all I am not the one who does the mapping. We leave that to the pros. There's only a handful of authorized and accredited Motec Programmers around. |

Hello,
=D hee hee hee... So I guess now you guys have it running on your car okay? Kewl. Just out of curiosity, the $2500 starting price - does that include just the Motec and its internal options or does that include things like bigger injectors, etc. What do you use for timing - a cam or crank sensor, a wheel, etc. Seriously, I think the Motec is probably one of the best tuning tools on earth. It's not the easiest to learn, by far, but it has features that none of the others can support (though the features are enabled at a rather steep price). What other system has such good on-board datalogging, track mapping, traction control, etc... Congrats. And BTW, I just did my FIRST non-rental track event Of course, the Scooby wasn't ready and I did it in my miata But if you want to send me a free motec I'll hook it up on a rental and try it out at the track Joel |

I'll pass on the free motec
Motec can use the stock Cam and Crank sensors. It does not need a timing wheel like a TECII. $2500 is for the unit. Wiring and other options are extra. Motec is not a base/entry level system. It's for the serious applications, providing many options like you meantioned. Thats why they are not cheap. |
