Mine G35 was a piece of crap from the day I bought it with 35K miles on it.

TPMS issues unable to be resolved by dealer, $700 seat rails making my driver's seat a rocking chair, then doing it again in 10K after spending said $700 for the part and replacing them myself, compression rods, cat bad at 101K, rust coming through fenders even though car was religiously washed and waxed, unresolved shudder on the highway, wheel bearings going bad prematurely, etc., etc.

I will never own a Nissan again. On the flip side, I have yet to have a serious issue with any Subaru I have ever owned.

What year? The early 2000's were fine. Around '05 or so is when they became complete crap.

My late 90's I30 was fine.

Granted, I have an '07 TL-S, but I average 20mpg in the city...32mpg on the hwy.

I really wanted to get a 4G 6spd, but decided I still really like this car, and LOVE not having any car payments. I just put some Michelin Pilot Super Sports on, and holy crap this thing handles amazingly. FWD definitely isn't as fun in the winter, but I just throw my snow tires on and haven't had any issues.

The last gen TL-S was a MUCH better looking car than the current one. I saw a blue one and a white one (with A-Spec kit) over the last two days and it really is a shame what Acura did to the styling. I'd say that the last gen was top three best looking sedans out of JDM-land in the last decade.

ALL of the older Acuras were better looking than the new ones.

32 hwy impressive, considering that's identical to my Accord 5MT with about half of the horsepower

If this thing blows up, maybe I'll just get a heavily used TL-S 6MT beater from the last generation

The power is a bit down but handling is great. Ok, maybe the suspension is too sport and not enough luxury. Replace the shocks and springs with those from a regular LGT. The TL,,,,as it ages becomes a Camry. No, really. I hopped into salespeoples cars constantly and the Camrys ( and accords for that matter) were no worse than the TL. All were leather and fully decked out (stupid sales people spending their car allowance on their cars.....pfffft).

If true luxury is what you're looking for, bum a ride in Nick's CTS-V. That is luxury. Beyond that, I'm thinking Quattroporte.....which is at the top of the luxury food chain of cars I've personally experienced.

My TL does creak like crazy in the winter. I figure the new ones would be better since our RDX has ZERO creaks and has almost 2x as many miles as the TL.

I did test drive a Spec B (the first model year) and was not impressed with the interior build quality. It just felt like a tarted up Impreza. The newer versions of the Spec B did look nicer inside, but I don't have any experience with them.

My friend has an 05 TL and absolutely hates it and can't wait to get rid of it.

Acura, a company whose strategy has long consisted mostly of selling Really Nice Accords, will kill off the TL and TSX Really Nice Accords next year for a smaller, lighter Really Nice Accord called the TLX.

Automotive News reports that the aged TSX, once an enthusiast favorite and probably the last great Acura for people who care about driving, will be discontinued in order to use the newest Accord platform in all markets. The new TLX will slot in between the current current TL and TSX sedans.

The TLX will get the 310-horsepower Earth Dreams V6 from the RLX, also a Really Nice Accord, and will come with available all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering.

I dunno, Acura, it sounds like a Really Nice Accord, but how well has that worked for you lately?

yerps.

well true. I was giving you a screaming deal on it. I think $3k more than what you paid? 6MT Nav: $17.5k and it came with the HFP kit and TL wheels and some suspension parts.

something along these lines. a 4 yr old TL felt better than a brand new spec b.

I've been in countless of TLs with over 100k miles. I dont see what the issue is.. they still hold up better if not just as well as the germans. Its an econo luxury car that cost $33k.

I sat in a coworker's 2012 TL yesterday and was a bit disappointed. Only thing I liked was the navigation. Besides that, it was a regular car with leather. I have to check out a fully TL because I'm assuming (hoping) that was a base model. It's a lease.

To be honest, back then I thought you could be some young n00b that beats the living **** out of his cars. It was 2007, and your join date was early '07. I had some fear that it could've been a ticking time bomb that may be hiding something. Also, I really wanted a sedan, as the headroom is a tad shorter in the coupes, and I no longer cared for body kits or fancy wheels by then, that just added to the n00b/ric3r factor

If you offered a screaming deal on something I wanted today, I'd buy it from you, as you've now been here for (damn has it been that long) six years

How much did you end up getting for that Accord anyway? I bet you miss that car It absolutely would've been a steal, had I bought it. Didn't it have like 25K miles too?

I've come close to trading in my own Accord a few times, but I still love it, and she still gets the job done .

Forget the logo for a minute and sit in a brand new Kia Optima SX-L with nav. I think you'll be nearly if not equally impressed with the interior. I'm not saying buy it, but I am saying Kia did an outstanding job with the interior.

While you're at it, take Jack's advice and sit in that CTS-V , and the Mas Quattroporte for S&G's

no.. no.. How much did you SELL it for? Did someone give you the $17.5K?

Also, I was the n00b on driveaccord. Had my beater not blown up, I probably would've made a more rational choice. (and created 500 more "waht car should I buy" threads in OT )
