I believe yours has an issue, but mine doesn't have any oil residue around where the fitting goes into the hose coming off the block. I agree having a lip would be better, and no I have never needed to smoke test mine. It is a built block and a lot of the smoke would be going past the pistons and out the intake system and exhaust.

Wow, what a shame, I used to want one of these. I hope they make a new design

Truaxis don't let what I have said sway your decision. I have owned crawfords also and I still prefer the Perrin aos even though I have to add parts to there kit. Would I like them to fix a few issues yes but adding said parts really isn't that big of a deal breaker. Also keep in mind I'm not Perrin fan boy

Thanks for your comments, but on the contrary, it has swayed my decision.

I think Perrin parts are of the highest quality and design out there. If it says Perrin on it, it can't possibly suck! I'm not a fan boi of them, but I sincerely respect Jeff's commitment and success within the Subaru brand.

That being said, I honestly expect more from a company like Perrin. When you tell me you have to add parts to a design to get it to function properly...that is a red flag.

Now unless your case is an isolated incident...that is a different story.

Again, I am not knocking Perrin. If it would have been another company, I probably would not have even commented. I hold their products to a very high standard, above most other companies. I guess I was a little surprised to hear about your experience.

Thanks again!

Cissac where is the oil coming from? I cannot tell by the pictures. Did you apply the RTV sealant to the bottom of the AOS. The oil ring by it self will not seal it needs RTV.

Per there instructions

Read through entire installation before starting this project. There is a decent amount of planning needed for hose routing, and it is important to understand the full installation before beginning installation of the AOS. Mainly to orient bottom of AOS before sealing it with RTV.

TriAxis I fully understand. Understand though I have limited knowledge on the topic. 100% though mine did not work. Confirmed by having to pay a company $90 and diagnosed it that it did not pass inspection.

Man I am REALLY sorry to hear that. I hope you get this settled down quickly and do no damage to your engine.

Sorry to hear about the install. Do you have any pictures of how the lines were set up? The PERRIN AOS won't cause oil to come out of the intake, unless something wasn't installed properly. You can email me pictures to [email protected].

Default Cleaning up the engine bay

Has anyone tried routing the coolant lines to the AOS from the coolant expansion tank that is in front of the turbo? I have a 2010 WRX and am thinking of rerouting my coolant feed lines from the air oil separator to the expansion tank to try to clean up the engine bay from the spaghetti mess of hoses. I would need to buy some barbed adapters to change the size of the coolant lines since the AOS has a smaller line than the line that comes off of the turbo to the expansion tank. Any thoughts?
