Default 3 year comparison of Fluid Film rust prevention.

Ask me anything about it, application, recommendations, etc.

It has been doing pretty well so far, here is the comparison video with my impreza vs a crosstrek with 3 winters on each.

Any issues with rubber bushings or hoses swelling? I want to try fluid film but I'm worried about it's interaction with rubber.

Nothing so far, Most rubbers under your car like tires and gaskets are treated or made to resist petroleum products so they arenít affected.

If they are normal rubbers then they will swell, I canít imagine manufacturers using these on a car though.

Most of the suspension bushings and engine mounting bushings are going to be a natural rubber blend, butyl rubber, or EPDM rubber. Depends on what an OEM wants for damping properties, chemical resistance, and cost.

(worked at 3 different OEM rubber product suppliers)

I wouldnít think they would use a rubber under he car that swells when petroleum products are on it. Whenever it rains the oils from the roads get all over everything.

I guess I donít know much about it though.
