Default HELP! Check Engine light on & Cruise Control Light Blinking

My check engine light came on and at the same time, my cruise control light is blinking. I cannot seem to find any info in the manual regarding a blinking cruise control light.

How this happened? No clue. All I know is that I set my car into cruise control and about 5 minutes later, felt a little decrease in speed, saw that the check engine light was on and the cruise control light is blinking. When I got home, turned the car off and then later, started the car. Again, still the same.

Anyone know what all this is all about?

That is standard CEL behavior for the drive by wire cars. Get a code reader and see what the deal is.

Usually, this is the sign that the car hit the boost cut. Remember what I told you about the STI having a boost creep problem with a turbo back? This is usually the indication of needing the wastegate ported , engine management...

does this mean that if you are running an aftermarket parts w/o em, this would trigger?

Yea. It can still happen with EM if you don't raise the boost cut.

My car does the same thing but with no CEL. Actually, after about 20 min of city driving, first my DCCD "auto" light goes off, then the rear DCCD light begins to blink... rendering the DCCD controls inopperable. THEN, if I keep driving for another 25-30 min (city driving), my damn cruise light starts blinking too!!... then cruise control is inopperable too. But NO CEL!! Everything resets and goes to normal when I shut the car off, pull the key, then start up again. It's been acting up for three months now. My only mod is CBE, and my car has a VF-43 with a larger WG... I dunno what the deal is. I tried searching out solutions about this on nasioc to no avail... Gonna have to take it to the dealer when I get the time i guess. I will keep an eye on this thread for clues. Good luck...

^^I read that. However the VF-43 has a larger WG so boost creep is not likely... especially with a stock DP.

brake dust on the abs sensors. dccd is controlled by these sensors. if they dont get a consistent reading this will happen.
