Did you drive the car with the BCS unplugged? What kind of boost did you see?

It very well could have been the battery. Most newer cars will run but not well if battery voltage is less than like 11.4 ish. As for the taking the vac line off that goes from the T to the bcs i would be very cautious in doing so, cuz i was having some boost issues as well. Even being careful with my eyes glued to the boost gauge I rolled into it on the highway in 4th and it spiked to 25 psi and i heard a crazy boom followed by the check engine light and oil pressure light with smoke coming from under the hood and shards of the blocks laying under the intake manifold...... This happened in december and i'm still trying to save up for a short block. So lets just say i will never ever ever ever be yanking that line off again without some type of controller In the mix.

If you want to test your boost control solenoid or any other 12 volt solenoid, get yourself a power probe. They're pretty awesome. You can also put the car if test mode too.

Went and bought a new battery, reset ECU, and reconnected the BCS and, *"VOILA"*, boost is BACK.....

So, i guess that the battery, for some odd reason, was able to crank my engine up but not enough to power my BCS...how weird....can enyone tell me what i did wrong or did not do completely...because I still do not believe that all i had to do was buy a new battery.
So it was just the battery!?!?, as for I am having the same problems, but I suspect the same thing bc even with the car in test mode you can't hear anything from the bcs, but if I put it straight to the battery it works and clicks every time.

I too am having some low boost issue. I've cleaned the solenoid and it clicks just fine if I connect to the battery, but when I have the car in test mode it is silent. I'm seeing about 11.9 V at the harness plug when the key is on. Should this solenoid be engaging during test mode or not?

So my 04 wrx was tuned on Tuesday but before it was tuned the previous owner said he had just turned the boost down to 7psi with a boost controller well since then I replaced the intake with a Perrin short ram intake and put a Perrin recirculating bov on and replace the t at the turbo and wastegate that runs to the solenoid well after the tune my car only hold a steady 6psi at 1st then about 9psi if I am getting on it through the rest of the gears my tuner told me my waste gate was opening to soon releasing all of my boost and the. I tested the connector to my bcs with a noid light and it doesn’t see to get power I am currently getting ready to check it with a multimeter and clean the bcs but if it doesn’t work I’m not sure what other options I have.

have you tried connecting the solenoid to 12v and see if it clicks open? if it does nothing when power is applied you need a new solenoid. get a MAC 3 port valve.
