actually it's not that. our coolant system is self burping over time. I've changed everything. I get overheating spikes in traffic while the AC is on. Fans working (now) and still getting the over heating.

It affects my cold starts because the ECU won't fuel the car correctly if this is bad

headgasket? is teh coolant low? do you smell it burning? white smoke?

only when the ac is on?

not head gasket. coolant isn't low and i have enough in the over flow tank. no burning nor smoke. well i haven't experienced it with the ac off though but I presume it hasn't been cool enough for me to warrant traffic without ac hehehe.

it's the coolant temperature sensor behind your alternator. I'm going to try and change mine and hopefully this'll resolve my trouble of lean idle, hesitation on cold starts and this random over heating. The first time my over heating was from a failed crucial thermostat that got stuck open. Then fans not turning on... weird part is if I continue driving and air goes through my fmic, condenser, radiator then the temperatures drop to normal.

I have a ron davis / speedmonkee aluminum radiator and everything was replaced except for this small little thing. I gotta look at my fans too and chop and solder a new wire for the fan cause these wires seem to be damaged.

speedmonkee isn't around anymore. They're made by Ron Davis and you can still buy them through Ron Davis.

It's either my sensor or the harness to the sensor that's bad. Idled my car for about 20 minutes. The fans drivers side fan didn't turn on. The engine should've turned both fans on but didn't. When I turn the AC switch on the drivers side fan turned on. When off it turned off. Should've stayed on because the engine was very warm and car wasn't moving played with the switch with two screw drivers and the fans turned on. Took the connector off a little then engine adjusted timing and there was a big difference in idle. Put it back and didn't turn on. Messed with switch again and fans started moving again. I have multiple trouble but all causing a weird condition. I'm gonna change my sensor and replace radiator cap and thermostat to an OEM one again. Messaged my tuner about any temp adjustments away from stock. Waiting for reply.

you seem to be on the right track infek. if you try hard enough, you will figure it out. its only bolts and wires right?

our cars are funny with grounding as i'm sure most of you are aware...being 9 years old stuff is gonna start to fail. my problems are usually based around the last thing i messed with lol...

Thanks, it's because it's 9 years old and understand that if I don't resolve the issues that she won't be around for 9 more years you know? Bugeye for life!

Oh I'm not scared at all. I've turned every bolt on this car myself several times over. In just leaving the information for others that may be able to help.
