Default E-Brake light stays on...?

Hello. My cars e-brake light will not turn off. At first, it would turn on every now and then. I made sure the brake handle was all the way down, and messed with the switch and it won't turn off at all. Do I need a new switch, or is there anything I can do to repair it?

Thanks

I'd guess that one of the wires that go to the switch at the base of the handle is grounded out.

Don't remember if the brake / ebrake light is the same, but if it is, then it's a possible failure somewhere?

The brakes work fine when stopping, right?

check your brake fluid. That light also comes on when fluid is low

when the fluid got low in my car once, the red ebrake light was constantly on. I do not, however, drive a wrx.
