Default Possible very uncomfortable work situation.

Be prepared for some ambiguity, mofos.

So a employee from another office visited a few weeks ago saying he wanted to transfer here. I thought nothing of it obviously. He is now in school within the company to learn the basics of the job. Our work group recently discovered he has a controversial past.

Some time ago he witnessed someone close to him start to engage in a heinous crime. He walked away and did not stop this person from following through with what was obviously happening.

After the crime had been committed, the person that is close to him admitted it readily. He was not charged with anything as he did nothing wrong other than lack a moral compass.

We work long hours together in this office and training is pretty up close and personal for long hours.

Our work group is having a variety of reactions.

Common sense tells me we will have to grin and bear it, but I wonder if there is something that we can do as a group that's legal to keep this from happening.

I'm not sure how to react.

Either way, I'll keep this thread updated. I also realize some here may figure it out.

Ok, before things start getting crazy in here we need to know the basics.

How much is this guy tipping the boss?

a nicely baked potatoe, some butter, a dollop of sour cream, a tiny amount of fresh chives.

Makes as much f*ing sense as the OP

Furthermore, do you work with a bunch of women? Your office sounds like it's filled with a bunch of gossip spreading dramatic sissies.

None of us find it desirable to work with someone that doesn't have others well being in mind.

And I guess you'd have to see more about this too understand, maybe there's too much ambiguity.

If he really has no moral compass, he will wander off in short order. If you can't wait him out, just walk away.

See what your Corporate Inhuman Resources Department management have to say.

Ask the guy if he likes to be tickled on his gooch. I bet you won't have any issues with him after that. Especially if he says yes.

Probably. If he is such a scary guy, how did he get hired?

He has no record. He's been with the company several years. Everyone just thought he was a dick... like you're everyday dick. Then this was dug up.

He was notorious for his lack of regret. There was a law change due to this. 60 minutes did a special on him rather than person that actually committed the crime.

anyone ever heard of innocent until proven guilty... Maybe the story hasn't been verified. Ask the biased people at Snopes to check it out for you and adjust your opinion accordingly.

It's tough to comment for me and perhaps the rest of us if we don't know exactly what you do for a living and how this person will interact. Example- if you were a police officer this might be a deal breaker. If you put erasers on the top of pencils...well not so much.

So tell us exactly what it is that you do if you want better advise. Don't try to be all innocuous and stealthy and the ask for this type of advise. You can't have it both ways.

So....until then.... PISS OFF DOLT

Work up close with high voltage. 4k to 500k volts.

Also, I have a good idea that we're stuck. Just thought it was a somewhat unique position to be in and it might worth talking about. Maybe not.
