I don't think there are many (any?) desserts that start with Q anyway. Unless you consider quiche a dessert (I wouldn't hold that against you).

My understanding is that they could have chosen something, they just decided to become staid and boring like every other company.

New AA is nice, but still buggy. Sometimes after the connection with phone/HU, the screen is black. Sometimes just the bottom bar.

One thing that's *really* buggy, is It will keep defaulting to Amazon Music as the default audio player. NO. STAHP. I want my Pandora or Google Music. Even after listening for a little while, the music stops and... Amazon is there.

This is Google, not Amazon. Stop. Do. Not. Want.

Try clearing the defaults for the Amazon *Music app. Maybe it got hold of a default setting and is borking AA?

Yeah definitely tried the settings before plugging in and just tried again after the latest security software update from AT&T today. No bueno. Cleared cache in both apps and reinstalled AA. Still not allowing me to update. In fact, just now after I downloaded AA and installed it, a message popped up in the store that said it couldn't install AA, yet it did anyway? I dunno. It's super weird.

Google Map update worked and shows up in AA.

I uninstalled Amazon Music because it would start playing when I was using another music app in the car. Next to go is Pandora (once my free year of no ads expires) because it will randomly play and won't close after exiting the app (have to force stop).

I've had zero problems with AA since the new update. Spotify starts up and plays every time I plug it in, and it goes straight to Waze.

It's been super janky for me the past few days. I keep getting a black screen that I end up having to unlock the phone to remedy and voice commands don't work at all. I disabled the new version as a result. You'd think that they'd actually have tested on Pixel devices maybe?

Been driving around all week. Today was the first time I saw the new AA upgrade prompt. (pixel here) The UI is 10x better - visually, responsiveness and it hasn't crashed yet. I'd go through 1-2 crashes each way to and from work daily. Weather and notifications is finally intuitive. Thumbs up so far.

I'm liking the AA update, works fine with no bugs on my OP6 on both my Kia and my wife's Mercedes (both cars support AA and CarPlay).

Only thing that bugs me is they need to put a phone shortcut icon back at the bottom of the screen for quick access without having to go to the home screen.

Otherwise everything seems to work pretty seamlessly. And now that my wife is using Apple CarPlay constantly in her new car, I'm able to compare the functionality and ergonomics of each UI respectively

My AA update does not seem to have that issue. It automatically launches the last music player used when my phone was running AA, wether it's Pandora, Spotify or Podcast Addict. There is never an automatic 'default' on my setup.

That has always been the case for me, even prior to update.

Yeah, already got it. The update to production was only 5.5MB (from the beta) so it can't be that different. Most of the security patches are about that size.

Not sure if AA update, Android 10 or sandbagging. Used gmaps yesterday for nav. I intentionally ignored suggested known crap route on a few turns. It then gave itself a thumbs up after arriving 6,10mins earlier than estimated.

A couple weeks ago I got the most crap instructions from Maps ever. We were going to a gathering at a state park and unbeknownst to us, maps decided to route us through offroad trails till we got to a gate for the park which was of course closed. Dirt roads are pretty common where I live so I didn't think too much about it. It was also technically right. It was the fastest route to the park save the fact that there was a gate there.

My biggest peeve with maps is that you can't turn off this nonsense of google changing your route because it found something 30 seconds quicker.

I hope the Pixel 4 announcement has something that excites me about the phone. I'm nearing replacement time for my 2 XL, and it would be hard to leave the camera and update speed behind. Getting rid of the fingerprint reader for their version of Face ID isn't a great start, though.
