Well as of right now on the airboy dyno Im making 280awhp/260tq on my first tank of e85. And this is with my timing in the basement as my tuner said. Hoping for 300/300 with some more timing and boost.

Because only people who have blown up their motor once will think about them lol.

Yeah those five-o's are the best deal on injectors period. Fic treated me well on the Bosch 2200's but five o just sells them for nothing it seems. Giving the damn things away!

quick question for someone who can answer this well.

Right now I'm still on stock turbo (VF39) and planning on getting tuned for E85. I'm currently running 850cc injectors which i'm having problems with, so I'm going to buy Five-O injectors. After I get my tune I plan on upgrading my turbo....question is, should I buy 1000cc injectors or 1200cc injectors? Five-O makes both in sidefeed, so that's not an issue, but is 1200cc a bit overkill or is that a good match up with say, FP red, HTA86, DOM3, TD06 20g etc...?

The 1200's will be fine up to like a 54lb turbo anything bigger than that(35r,hta86,etc.)will require switching to topfeed and going bigger(fic,five-0,or id 2000's) if you plan on running e85.You may need a bigger fuel supply also.

well to be perfectly honest, going much bigger than that will require me to rip out and build the engine, and this is my DD so i doubt that's a possibility what with me being a college student & attempting to work full time

I have 1200's with a VF52. "Overkill" for my setup, but no issues, so I don't see why not.

Get the 1200's

He'll im runing 1000cc on a VF37, granted im still in break in but my IDC's are less then 20% now, haha.

Kinda wish i didnt convert to top-feed, the five0 side feed would have saved me some $$

even with the big 2000cc injectors, tuners such as ron and mike are not having any issues safely controlling the flow with them turned down for smaller turbo applications.

i would consider staying fairly close to your established goals though, you don't need id or five0 2000s to push a 30r on pump but will need injectors that big to push e85 which requires 30% more fuel. e85 will also require some fuel system upgrades like john has stated.

And remember that getting bit by the power bug can be quite addictive. you upgrade from a td04 or a vf30/43/52, to a 30r, and you soon find yourself wondering how you were even impressed by your first test drive. once you go turbo, forget about N/A right? lol.

i know there is a line that gets crossed, but if you should establish a power goal and stick to it. if you start buying parts and change you mind mid-build, you may end up losing money on parts that are under sized.

def do the research, dont impulse buy. don't buy cause its trendy. there are a lot of kind gentleman on here that would be happy to advise any of us with suggestions, and success failure stories. don't be afraid to post questions or even pm the guys that seem to make sense to you. thats what this is really all about. don't be disheartened by some of the rude people on the intrawebs. there are plenty of straight up big power subarus right in this thread that would be happy to help out...including myself. i help where/when i can.

i could use a lil help myself right now! lol.

Just woke out of my winter hibernation (yawn) driving the crv

My ID2200's and 30R at 22psi for DD is hilarious looking at the duty cycles at WOT lol, go big

I've had JE pistons with no issues for a long time -TDAGEN knows his stuff!

Question/trouble shooting= anyone have a bad coilpack cause a misfire at WOT on E85, or maybe lead wire?

I know I still need the Boost a Spark for $229!! bump from 12v to 20v muahaha

Greeracer , I have had big misfires... To much E85 will drown that spark right out! I think it was 25 psi on the 91-79, that happened on. I'm sure if you had a bad coilpack it would kind of go the same way. Fuel finds the next hottest thing to light off besides the blown out/not sparking plug, problem is it lights at the wrong time. In my hybrid I am pretty sure the fuel was lighting off of the sharp overhang of the 2.0 heads on the 2.5L when my spark plug was drown/blown out. I installed a Kenne bell boost-a-spark and I have not had any issues since... If you take your coilpacks out it's pretty easy to see if they are shot. From what I've researched they will actually melt/deform a bit and or get cracks. .024 gaps ftw too...

I missed this post, nice. I really want to how this ones will work since they are actually modded injectors non EV14s.

Ngk coppers, yeah since there is so much more fuel being thrown in the cylinder with E85 you gotta drop the gaps with bigger turbos, iirc .026-.024 is what I ran with the 30r. The smaller the gap the easier it is for them to spark, bigger gap is a bigger distance for the spark to jump and it makes it easier to blow out...Even big turbos on gasoline need the gaps dropped. Unless you have a mean ignition system ...

iridium bkr7eix .022 gap for me, I think I may have been on the rich side last night maybe that caused it to blow out..., I'll try to lean it out and see if that helps

How do you like the boost a spark???!! (Awesome btw) ALL OUT

i have heard guys running the shorter gap, and thought it was about blowing the spark out. then my local napa brother explained that i would want the spark to be long so that it would ignite and not blow out.

gap for my build on 93 pump? should i switch out the 2$ ngk copper for a 10$ irridium?
