Sure. As long as you like working for free. But I am willing to offer you one peanut butter sandwich per day. No jelly though. You have to earn jelly.

The range that's near my house will let you shoot anything you can shoulder.. up to .50 BMG.

It's not about getting any kind of real practice in, it's to let people 1) show off their ****, 2) to let someone be introduced to shooting a rifle in a nice air-conditioned atmosphere (wife/g.f./new shooter).

I think more of 1 than 2... but I've heard both excuses used.

My take is that this fool with the tracer rounds knew they were banned and did it anyway b/c he thought "it'd be so cool!" to show off with his buddies. Prediction: some punk ass early 20-something douchebag with a bieber-swoop covering one eye. (no offense to all the 20-somethings w/bieber-swoops on this board... )

I mean really, who doesn't know what tracer rounds are!

tr00 story: the day I was getting my CHL, the range we were supposed to go to caught on fire b/c someone was shooting steel-cased ammo (banned at that range) and apparently it sparked and caught all the powder residue on fire... ( their story, just repeating it ).

Just got the full story today, the guy as brand new to shooting, bought an AR-10 at a gunshow and asked for ammo, they sold it to him for $50 (gouging), everyone missed that it was tracers and he didn't know until he shot it.

Pretty much user error and ignorance, not a-hole trying to look cool.

I think I'd rather it was an a-hole trying to look cool. Ignorant gun owners are a good reason for greater gun control and they're absolutely ruining it for responsible gun owners. It's also a bit terrifying.

Range should have asked about the ammo and visually verified the type. Range I go to many times they will check ammo esp if it's not in a manufacture's box.
Might not be all one person's fault in this case.

Definitely terrifying, I've had loaded guns pointed at me at Garland Public Shooting Range and last time I went to DFW Gun Range a Constable shooting next to me could barely hit the target and kept having FTF and stovepipes because he was limpwristing the heck out of his Glock. Scary to think he carries a gun everyday...

Yes... Huge stack of SP. They want $17.99 a box which is really steep but it has been difficult to find.

Sold off my G22, and I now have 200 rounds of Federal .40 fmj 180 grain. I will look at the boxes again, but I believe that is correct. Feel free to PM if you are looking for ammo.

Not sure if any of you are interested in polymer AR lowers but midwestpx has some available.

New Frontier lowers aren't worth that much. They're iffy on their quality. I personally wouldn't pay over $40.

I figured polymers most polymers were iffy. I got one just to try it out. I have others so it's not that big of a deal if I need them to replace it or something.

Thinking I'll build it into a 9mm just for giggles.

Actually, ATI's Omni lowers are very good. New Frontier's lowers don't have as thick of walls and their pin holes are normal diameter, making their builds slightly loose. Omni lowers have smaller holes, which cuts down on wear issues and gives a very tight fitment.

I've seen many builds off of Omni lowers that are great. I've even seen a 50 Beowulf built on one that didn't shake anything loose. Omnis are my best selling lower. Also because they're the only lower I can reliably get in stock whenever I need them.
