The V-Box numbers part is interesting if true. Would be highly unlikely they got the same numbers.

Either way I think the video did a good job of showing the difference between the two in other areas. They didn't show any back to back performance tests to see if/when the Model S drops off performance wise compared to the Taycan. Or run multiple laps and show the lap times increase over time. That would have been a good test.

It will be interesting to see what the Model S Plaid brings and how much closer to the Taycan's price it will be.
The new Raven model S has upgraded motors and cooling system it probably can do multiple straight line pulls without dropping power but it will probably pull power on the road coarse.

Tesla is doing some testing right now:

Bloomberg who has written more negative news on Tesla than other major publishers produced some positive news on Model 3 improvements:

The sound and interior make the AMG a clear and obvious winner. If I wanted a power wheels interior I would pick the Tesla.

Owning a car is so much more than 0-60. It is not superior engineering that make Electric Motors so amazing. By their very nature they make all the torque from 0 rpm. The faster you spin them the worse they get.

I guess people who are amazed at Tesla are impressed by simple things. It is like looking at magnet and being stunned at how it hold on to a piece of carbon steel.

Electric motors are not a secret. If the rest of the car was impressive, then that would be something (Taycan) but as it is sold today, every single corner possible was cut and it is painfully obvious the interior and QC was the first to get the AX.

Model 3 wins midsize car of the year by AUTO BILD in Germany beating BMW and AUDI. And Tesla announces Gigafactory 4 to be build in Berlin

Just curious but which BMW and Audi model did they compare it to? Realistically it doesnít matter since most of the 3 series bmwís are crap (is throw the m3 in there but itís not complete crap). Iím assuming the Audi equivalent would be the S4? Sadly, for $60k and under, hell, even $75k and under there really isnít a German car thatís all that fantastic. The C63 AMG interior is damn sexy but wouldnít come close to hanging on a track with a Model 3 Performance.

What did they base the metrics on for best car? Iím assuming video is in German?

Too lazy to click link right now

Musk was in Germany to accept a Golden Steering Wheel award from Auto Bild, a German publication that covers the auto industry. ďBerlin is great,Ē Musk said after the award ceremony. ďI love Berlin.Ē In its latest earnings letter, Tesla said the European Gigafactory would likely be operational by 2021, predicting it would be similar to the Shanghai facility, since both will be manufacturing the Model 3 sedan and Model Y SUV/crossover.

The new German factory could make Tesla one of the largest employers in Berlin. According to one of our resident Berliners, looking at the data here, it appears Tesla could easily be a top 6 employer in the city. That said, it wasnít clear if it will be counted as in the city or will just be near Berlin.
Quote:
Musk also mentioned at the Auto Bild event that Tesla will be opening an engineering and design studio in Berlin as well. Musk has often said he expects to build 10 to 12 gigafactories around the world in coming years. High-level engineering and design to optimize for that is needed, and Germany is a good place to tap into those fields.

I was hoping for commentary on what metrics they used for car of the year award or whatever award they gave out. I’m not saying I’m disagreeing with them, just interesting to know how they judge.

In regards to the Model X, it does seem to be a turd in reliability making it Consumer Reports tip 10 least reliable cars.

Now if only they made a sporty looking one for that same price (same performance would be fine, too).

Their exotic is going to be unobtanium, naturally, so we need some kinda tesla mustang.
