L.I. NY- 1987 VW GTi Rally/Track car project
Posting this for a friend, but can answer any questions that you may have. Project is probably 40-50% completed, all it needs is someone who will take the time to finish it. This car was an absolute blast to drive before the 2.0 conversion started. It's ashame to not be able to drive it again.
The car comes with as follows: -Used 2.0L 16V engine -Rebuilt 1.8L 16V cylinder head -Short ratio ’83 GTI 020 gearbox -16V 020 gearbox -New Quaife diff still in the box -Bilstein Group A rally struts -Eibach competition springs -Semi-seam welded (front and rear shock towers) -Fully welded in roll cage -Kevlar sump guard -New Jamex competition seats -Simpson Harnesses -OMP rally pedal covers -Terratrip rally computer -European four light grill with 400 watts of lighting built in -Battery relocated behind driver with master electrical switch wired in. -Fuel and brakes lines covered over under car for protection -Quick release hood -Front shock tower brace -Stainless braided brake lines -Fuse box relocated to dash -Two sets of 14” VW wheels -Five used Michelin rally tires -four used Dunlop snow tires -Car finished in white inside and out + Many assorted spare parts PRICE: $3000 OBO May part out if there's no takers… Please email [email protected] any and all questions. Too bad you're not closer. I'd just snap it up as another toy to play with. I'd like to finish a rally car myself. Sounds like a steal, hope someone picks it up.

It really is a steal considering the Quaife is brand new and costs $800 alone, and add on top of that the suspension, you basically get everything else for free. This is a great starter car for someone looking to get into rallying or rally sprints for cheap.

I need racing seats and a harness for my car. That's 2G's right there for decent seats. I know about that damn Quaife price, I just ordered on for my civic.
