Angry This is why you need to be careful with replicas..My spoiler flew off!!!

I dont know how, or what happened. but i got in my car, looked in my rear view mirror (which is somewhat blocked by my REPLICA 22b rear bumper) and backed up. i drive around tuning my car....start to head on back home....i look in my rear view bumper when im almost home and notice something very odd....i have a full view of everything...MY SPOILER IS GONE!!!! I traced my tracks and didnt find it. I hope to god no one got hurt. I seriously doubt anyone did....since i didnt see any accidents when i was tracing my steps.

but let this be a lesson to you guys, go check your spoilers right now and make sure all the bolts are on tight and please dont buy cheap replicas looking for a good deal. just for referrence, the bolts were in my trunk (which means the fiberglass let go) and the spoiler was bought from CTC Motorsports over a year ago.

im not buying another replica part for the rest of my life. can someone please direct me to a real RB5 wing.

Did the spoiler "rip" itself out? Is there damage to your deck lid? Or did the bolts just come loose? Did you find the bolts in your trunk?

I tend not to read very carefully, either.

Yeah, I'd laugh too if I saw that. But then, I'd wait a few minutes to see if you noticed and then I'd go pick it up and throw it in my trunk. I'd then take it to work and fix it, since fiberglass repair is what I do, repaint it, and I'd be sporting it.
I can just see it now. A Civic Hatchback with a 22B wing on top wanting to race you at a stop light.

Someone stole my sock spoiler off my car right after I bought it and a couple of months ago I swear I saw it on a 90 something thunderbird.

Well, ummmm, I'm selling a SYMS "replica" wing. I guess you don't want it because it's a replica. Seems like it's really really strong though. Oh well.

Wait, a minute. If your bolts were in the trunk. That means that the bolts vibrated out. which means one should tighten the bolts from time to time. Now, if the fiberglass was faulty, then you should have the bolts still attached to the trunk lid and the fiberglass piece with the nut in it should have been sitting on your trunk. It the complete wing is missing that means that there was a loose nut under the lid. To me it seems that the bolts may have came loose. Just need to check the bolts or use lock tight on the bolts.

guys i went along the road today since its day time and i figured id find SOMETHING....well i did...i didnt want to stop to pick it up becuase of the traffic but i saw it in the center median out of harms way...it was ugly...i think it went from a 4 piece spoiler into a 10 piece it was all ripped apart.

the bolts are stuck in my trunk lid as well. it may NOT have been the spoilers fault but MY fault for neglecting to check the bolts every month or so. its near construction so i think i hit a pothole and it lifted a bit and caught wind and just took off.

i couldnt get in contact with anyone with an RB5 wing so i said screw it and ordered a genuine SYMS wing, especially since i plan on someday sticking on a SYMS body kit...anyways just make sure your bolts are on tight guys. check them every month.

Question....

How do you steel a spoiler?? Did the person like rip the thing off the car? Or did he manage to pick his way into the trunk and unbolt it? Seems like an awful lot of work for a spoiler thats only worth $250 and would look like **** on any other car.
