The way Nico's been talking, I just get my hopes up for this race!

It's just one of those tracks where anything can happen. The slightly slower teams even have a chance. It's all about the qualifying.
I'm thinking Alonso has a good chance of winning the race 3 years running. Yes, Renault aren't the quickest, but the advantage that the top teams have isn't as 'usable' in Monaco because of its characteristics.

Hoping Ferrari improve their performance here, too. They've been a little off colour the last few years.

I'd like to see Kimi bounce back from his struggles in Turkey for a dominant win from pole like '05 (or was it '06?). Williams cars always seem to like this track, based on recent years and comments from people like Nico. I'm hoping they can put both cars in the points with some strong qualifying (though Kaz hasn't impressed in that area).

I was just there on May 9th. They already had the barriers and grandstands up. My wife and I walked the entire circuit. Had a beer at La Rascasse and looked out the window at Schumi's favorite parking spot. Definitely a cool experience for someone that's been watching this race on TV for most of his life. I think watching this year's race is going to be something special.

The most difficult track on the F1 calendar is also probably the most difficult to make a prediction for. So rather than guess who the top four or so will be, so I'll go with who I think might throw a spanners in the works: Alonso and Webber.

Their experience, combined with the gains made in both teams and the inevitable SC or two might mean either could be standing on the podium. Or maybe that's wishful thinking?!

What's the difference between best lap and record pole?

Is best lap a lap during a race?

I hope it rains and unless something breaks or theres an extremely long pit stop whoever is first after the 2nd corner will most likely win.

Wet weather is likely to affect the otherwise glamorous running of the Monaco Grand Prix this week.

Weather forecasters are predicting mild temperatures at or below 20C all week, including Saturday and Sunday, and a possibility of rain throughout the coming days.

The highest probability for dry weather is ironically on Friday, when Formula One teams do not practice following Thursday's traditional first day of official action.

Another weather source predicts a dry race for Sunday, explaining that the forthcoming rain for the area may have cleared by the morning.

Weather forecasts this way out are so hard to see as anything then speculation, but rain would be nice.

Due to my having to take about nine prescription meds which has made my brain even more wonky than usual, I had to call in the support team (my wife Jen) to make my pics for me. She's a little biased towards the red cars.

I think that's more of a driver bias. Actually now that I think about it the only driver she's ever mentioned not liking is Alonso.

McLaren have been moved back up to the middle of the pitlane for the Monaco Grand Prix, following their relegation down to the bottom end for the last three races.

The Woking-based team had started the season in the fifth slot between Williams and Red Bull Racing, but were informed prior to the Bahrain Grand Prix that they would be moved to the last position - after alleged complaints from rival teams.

Although it was expected that they would remain there for the rest of the season, the pitlane allocation for Monaco has seen them return to the slot between Williams and Red Bull Racing.

No reason has been specified.

McLaren, whose motorhome remains at the bottom of the paddock, were unconcerned about being at the bottom of the pitlane - especially because it gave them an advantage in getting a clear exit from the pits after refuelling stops.

"Technically, it's an advantage as far as we can see and where we are in the pit lane doesn't affect the races," team boss Ron Dennis said in Bahrain. "If there is an outcome, it will be positive not negative.

"Obviously some of the other facilities are not as good as here in Bahrain, it can be a bit of a squeeze, but we're very resilient to this sort of thing."
McLaren's pit position changed again...for no real apparent reason.

I'm convinced Bernie carries around a small (although totally elegant!) bag that's filled with completely random decisions, comments, penalties, rewards, or just about anything he's ever thought of...and when nobody is looking.
