No worries! If you look back a page it kind of explains it. I did not want the dump at the firewall and routed it back to the rear diff. It still barked quite loud so I added the Supertrapp muffler and now I am very happy with it!

It's all about these Killer B Holy Headers and they rock!! They help to spool any turbo fast, make big torque and they flow huge air for high HP!!!

Thanks!

Were the version 1's primaries closer to the oil cooler and filter? I went to an EJ257 oil cooler on my new motor instead of the FXT EJ255 cooler which had a spacer block that caused interference with the header primaries. I posted a photo earlier that showed the tight fit on my stock 255 block.

Do you still have that Hyperflow FMIC kit FS?
Yea was on my sti I had a problem so I went with a mocal oil cooler

And yea that hyper flow still fs lmk

Default XTI-Junior tuning session

Last Monday afternoon, December 17th I was fortunate to have booked a time with Junior at PnL in Chicago to tune my new XTI build!

It's a new motor build with a MPS Long Rod 2.5 SB, HP Techs in Detroit built D25 heads; CnC, PnP'd, Hand blended, Super Tech +1mm valve train, Kelford R199B, Killer B Holy Header with custom HP Techs, SL EWG up pipe, HP Techs custom built/ Cobb FXT V-banded 3" exhaust, Tial MVR EWG v-banded custom, SuperTrapp mufflered (can you say stealth) exhaust, ETS TMIC and a Blouch 3.5XTR.

I love the sound of my XTI with the Killer B Holy headers and my EWG exhaust! Here are a couple graphs; 93 PG and E85, from my tuning session with Junior at PnL! Junior held back on some timing because of balance issues with my current 1100cc injectors. My fueling system is working well with the Walbro 400, hi amp direct wired, Aeromotive FPR @50 psi and Perrin rails. We were at 80% IDC on E85 and my Blouch 3.5XTR. I am rectifying the injector problem now and we will tweak the tune some soon!

I currently have DW 1100's older style injectors but they were new. I've got one that flows -12% off at 20 % IDC and it is causing fits at mosty lower rpm's but it's where you cruise and the hesitation stutter stuff 1500-3000 sucks big time on E85. It was not as bad on the PG but still there! DW is making good on them and giving me some new EV14 1000's so that's good but a hassle!!! Junior did not want to push it any harder with the timing as he nor do I trust the injectors. Junior's going to revise the map for the new injectors and I'll have to run a couple logs for him. I think he liked my car!

Regardless my XTI made very good power even with conservative timing! I plan to put up a thread in PPB I just don't have the time right now with the holidays, work and the new snow that I've been skiing

I hope ya'll like it!

If you're heading to Phoenix you better hurry. Firebird is closing soon. And Speedworld is faster but not NHRA either. So it could make it faster but not truthfully but it's usually colder so who knows. And I think it's closed or closing too.

Neither website alludes to it but the Indians are wanting to put in a mall so they aren't renewing leases at least for firebird.

Thanks Chris! We will see how she does after the injector swap and Juniors tuning revisions! Most folks have no idea. Cute ute.....not so much One of my auto industry buddies called it a "menacing machine"! It can still haul groceries, my paddle boards, bikes and samples for works trips!

Carmi, PM me sometime my car is in Detroit and when the weather's nice it will be on the road and possibly hurting feelings of unsuspecting so called super car driving bullies

It's a super fun car to drive and even more so after Junior's latest handy work!

I built that block to do over 8k rpm. So hopefully when you get your injectors figured out you'll get to push it a little more.

^ and I thought that power band was pretty already

With the 3.5XTR I don't imagine there would be much, if any, drop in power from 7K to 8K.

What's the top end in revs with the D25 heads Dom, 8K?

The new injectors are going in on Friday and we're moving the IAT sensor under the IC centered on the throttle body! On the dyno the IAT was showing 175 degrees nearing the end of 4th gear pulls and the ECU was pulling timing up there. This of course was not an issue on the road but this will be the best location for the sensor!

that depends on your head builder. What springs are you running? I would think that R-199-B cams with any dual spring or GSC beehive would be good to at LEAST 8k. Your boost level will affect your redline as well. The funny thing about boost:
the more you run the higher you can rev the bottom end.
the more you run the less you can rev the top end.

All Supertech valve train w/ dual springs. Junior had boost at 21 psi/ 93 & 26 psi/ E85.

Good to 8k?

I went with D25s for the OB response and torque vs. higher revs of the B25 heads. My heads do breath very well!

The d25 head has a faster burning chamber than the b25. So in theory it can make more power at higher rpm provided you don't go crazy with the timing.
