I recently came into an automatic 1994 legacy sport with a major oil leak which i'm currently repairing. I'd like to use the car a dedicated scca/rally toy and with that said I'd like to do something about the automatic transmission without the large expense of a full manual conversion as who knows how long i'll use the car for this use.
I have been searching all over the internet to see what I can find. I can find historical posts of people having used an unnamed B&M ratchet shifter and making it work as well as disabling the TCU while doing it to lock it into manual shift mode but can't find any details/part numbers or wiring diagrams for the TCU changes. Does anyone use this configuration or know someone who did that might be able to point me in the right direction? Also, yes i'm aware straight automatic might actually perform better... but this is about the fun factor as well
