Default 2011 Wrx - AP Stage 1

Is it worth it ? Is there any real noticeable difference vs the cost if not planning on going stage 2

Simple answer yes, if you get the Ap and use the basemaps til you go stage 2 that's your best bet. Then when you go stage 2 get a protune, that will save you some money

Not going to stage 2. Would only stay stage 1. With that being said is it a noticeable diff. That is worth the $$$$ - i know some 2011 owners out there are running stage 1 - chime in

Better advice. Don't go stage 2, stay stage 1, but put 93 octane with the 93 stage 1 map. About the same power on a dyno, according to Cobb!

You will save money, and if you want to go back, your free! The difference in torque is really noticeable

My 2 cents

Definitely noticeable compared to stock. I went stage 1 on my '11 about 8 months ago, zero regrets. I actually still use the AP periodically as a boost gauge, playing around doing 0-60's, and to keep an eye on my speed during long road trips.

I just loaded the 91 stage 1 map last night. I think I was expecting too much because honestly, I didn't notice that much of a difference. I will say that the power delivery is so much smoother, feels way better than stock. Power-wise, not much of a difference for me. I have a downpipe waiting and I'm planning on going stage 2 in the spring.

Hi bud, thanks for your purchase!! The 09-11 WRX does come with a fairly decent factory tune (at least in terms of power delivery) compared to other vehicles such as the 08-11 STi. As such, the Stage1 gains aren't quite as big as on the vehicles that come with much poorer factory tuning. We do still get a nice gain out of the car as well as some other changes for drivability and whatnot like you mention. The factory TMIC on the car is a big limitation; a full TBE + upgraded TMIC and ProTUNER *really* wakes these guys up. Have fun and enjoy!

Best regards

Lance

Thanks for the information Lance.

To answer your question OP, I think it's worth it, not only do you get a more responsive car, but you can datalog and monitor your car. I have also been using the AP as a boost gauge, something I have wanted in my car since I bought it.

Best mod I ever made.
Tried first with plain S1 93 octane and after with Intake (20ft/lb more per Cobb)
The car responded amazing, and butt dyno approves.
Stage 2 is only a DP away really, if you don't feel like getting a full TB.

FYI the stock tune is pretty lean, Cobb corrected that.

Get it, you will not regret it.
