Default Compilation of painted wheels

UPDATE: Due to the popularity of this thread, it is now open to ALL repainted wheels. (Not just stock wheels)

Instead of searching for which colors look best on which wheels/vehicles, this thread should be a compilation of pictures for ALL wheels that are repainted.

Make sure to give a brief description including what wheels they are, and more importantly, what primer, paint, and clear coat. Please, post the brand and color of the paint since most of these threads all ask "what paint did you use" over and over again in the same thread.

Feel free to post multiple pictures, also including one or more picture/s of the wheels mounted on the vehicle since the year, model, and vehicle color will be an important factor in deciding which looks best.

I will start by posting my wheels in the second post. I hope this thread helps clear up a lot of clutter and helps those deciding on what colors look best.

Due to some curb rash and not wanting to pay to have my stock wheels fixed, I decided to fix/repaint them myself. Since this isn't a thread about the process itself, I won't go into detail. You can search for that in all 42380946 threads about how to do it. This is for picture reference only.

These are my stock 2006 WRX wheels.

-Repainted with Wurth Silver Lacquer.

-Primed with regular primer I had laying around but didn't like it so I bought a can of scratch filler primer which is much thicker and came out great.

-I also used Wurth clear coat which I wasn't too crazy about because it wasn't shiny so I later bought a high gloss clear coat and it came out great. I chose Wurth silver lacquer because it's the closest you will get to the stock color. It will work on many wheels.

This wasn't my last coat of paint but you can see where I had the wheel taped off (around each spoke and around the inner portion of the rim) and how close the paint matches. Once I clear coated it, it was pretty much a perfect match.

Next up, I painted a set of OZ Racing/Prodrive wheels due to some curb rash. They're a factory upgrade option so I will count these as stock. lol

Once again, I used Wurth silver lacquer, scratch filler primer, and high gloss clear coat.

This is how it looks on a black 2006 WRX:

And this is how it looks on a silver 2002 WRX.

Yes i painted over the wheel weights. These are my winter wheels. Though, there's a good chance I'll do this with the summer wheels.

I painted my wheels with Duplicolor graphite....

first i sanded down the old paint, then i used simple green and clean the wheels, i then spray 3 coats of paint and then 3 coats of duplicolor clear coat....i wish i would have used more clear coat, but its ok, im getting new tires put on tomorrow so i will be repainting them again shortly, i think i will redo them every 6 months or so just to keep them chip free..tell me what you think...any questions, just pm me

Thanks guys! Once again, it's not really necessary to list the process since it's always the same process. Atleast now no one will ask HOW you all did it. Lets try to get all the stock wheel pics in this thread so that we have everything in one place. I'm even contemplating just posting pics of other member's wheels since half of them will probably be too lazy!

I think you should open it up to all wheels instead of just stock. lol, you posted non stock wheels. I think its just good to see paint in different light.

I do think its very important to include the product(s) used, though.

Well, those wheels were a factory option. That silver bugeye has all of the factory options (skirts, lip, etc) so technically the exterior is still stock, including the wheels.

If we get enough people posting in this thread, posting any painted wheels would be a good idea.

I wanted to make this thread because a lot of people love their stock wheels but just want to change the color and can't decide on which color to go with. Thanks for the pics and the input guys. Keep them coming!

I like how you kept the subaru writing in the center caps unpainted.

Wow!...amazing thread! !
I have yet to see a "Banana-Yellow " rims/wheels on a Red Bug-Eye?!
Just curious and contemplating the idea.
Well, not completely "yellow" but with a yellow-theme in mind. Maybe a yellow lip or yellow something...dunnno
