My head hurts reading all 11 pages, talk of more torque but no more hp, a mid, a 3" dp..... coupled with the fact I'm brand new to WRX and my 2011 Hatch was just ordered last week I'm a bit lost right now. Please be kind, but I have a few simple questions:
1) For the 2011 Hatch no re-tune is needed? 2) Do I need a turbo back exhaust or a mid pipe to maximize the 10+ torque gains of the Nameless $300 exhaust? 3) Is there still free shipping for NASIOC members? I'm mainly looking for a deeper sound under full throttle but "normal" sound under responsible throttle and extended highway driving. Last edited by bikewriter; 03-03-2011 at 12:07 AM. |

2. Not sure on that. I'm hoping to get some dyno charts from Chris' run in the next week or so - he needs to get them from the dyno, the owner was afraid of his dirty USB stick...hehe. I'd guess actually that the axleback on its own would also provide some hp gains, but because the rest of the system had already realized the hp gains of opening up restriction, there was a point of diminishing returns realized in the hp numbers in the final wide open test. Just an educated guess based on lots of prior dyno time, not a certainty. 3. No free shipping for NASIOC members, we were doing that to give people who didn't want powdercoat a bit of a discount when we were offering free powdercoating. We will probably be offering additional discounts to existing customers in the future, so if you buy an AxleBack now, we will be sending discount offers out to you in the future for purchasing the products that we will be releasing to combine with this axleback (midpipe, downpipe, but you could even apply the discount to a camera mount, skidplate, front mount intercooler, etc...all of these are things we're working on). Hope to hear from you soon. We're in the shop tonight if you want to call and chat. 360.263.5001 Jason |

So, is the hatchback axleback on the website now is $435.00 and the sedan version is 299.00?
Decent price jump there that may turn off some people here as the thread has been raving about 300 bucks for this. |

Unfortunately with a muffler in the hatch design I can't make them for the same price as a zero muffler system, and making a design on the hatch given the space constraints that deletes the muffler would most likely make it more expensive. Not only that, but the actual pipe involved in the hatch design is larger in diameter and thereby more expensive. For an example, I can get all of the mandrel bent piping in the Sedan system for around the same price that I can get a third of the piping in the hatch. I wish I could do better, but that's the best I can do, and I'm extending half of the full catback discount ($100 when you buy the AB & the Midpipe) for everyone who buys an axleback until we release the midpipe. Not only that but I'm throwing in a $50/off coupon to every axleback order for use toward the midpipe.
I know for the quality and workmanship, we are extremely competitive. I think you will all find that we are very diligent in chasing manufacturability which leads to good pricing where we're able to provide it. But we aren't going to sacrifice quality or the fit and finish of the final product to save a dime and be the cheapest on the block. Jason Last edited by GriffithBuilt; 03-03-2011 at 01:30 AM. |

I'm interested in the full catback system. My head is spinning from the discounts and coupons you are talking about lol. What is the price on the catback going to be, with, without these coupons.
Thanks. By the way, i have a cobb catted downpipe on. Will this catback mate up the 2.5" cobb downpipe? |

As for pricing, here's the deal: Catback (one price if you buy it all at once): $899. Axleback on its own: $485 (will be discounted to $435 until we release the midpipe). Midpipe on its own: $515 (if you buy an Axleback before the midpipe is released you'll get $50 off on it as well). So the bottom line is, you get the catback price if you buy the Axleback first. And if you only buy the axleback first with no intention of buying a midpipe, you get $50 off for being one of the early adopters of the system. Jason |

I've been following the hatch development for a while and have a few questions:
1) by straight through flowing design do you mean a design similar to cobb's exhaust? http://www.cobbtuning.com/images_products/5009.jpg 2) I see you are recommending polyurethane bushing for the hatchback but have not done so for the sedan. --- a) Is this due to a difference between sedan and hatchback or will you be recommending them for the sedan as well --- b) Is it possible to get a good fit without the bushings? I haven't looked under my car to see how exactly everything hooks up 3) Is the hatch exhaust flush with the valence or recessed? Looks pretty close to flush in the vids but wanted to be sure 4) I'll be going for sound rather than performance at this point in time. Is there any downside to just installing the axle-back with the step in size and is the gasket included? I think this is all for now. Kinda disappointed in the price increase between sedan and hatch, but I knew all along the hatch would have more material and labor involved. Overall, it looks like you guys have designed another great product |

Just call Jason. He is constantly saying to just call. I could have sworn there was light shed on differences and or meanings a little ways back. Could be wrong.

Called Jason last night to pre-order the axleback for my hatch. Great guy to deal with, very upfront about everything and he was able to answer all of my questions!! Looking forward to doing more business with them when they release more parts for the wrx!
