It's just not impressive. It's fast alright, but not original nor has the craftsmanship and attention to detail that match The F1,Veyron, Pagani, Koenigsegg.
Besides the power, I don't think it's even credible compared to 458, 911, Aventador, ZR1, LFA.

Personally, while it's not my thing, and it's too expensive, it's an impressive piece of engineering work out of a small shop. The problem with the car is, when you take the cockpit, interior, some body panels, etc. from a donor (fine by me), that should be done to keep the costs down. For their asking price, it should all be unique, nose to tail. The car itself though, I don't think anyone can argue with its potential. And, no offense, I think it looks less douchy than a Lambo, and it's not something you see regularly, as you might a Murci in certain towns. |

Who said it was trying to be? They only ever compare them in speed, not craftsmanship.

If you just wanted to go fast straight build yourself a drag car and you will be able to do 9 second 1/4 mile runs all day long and you can pocket the extra 950,000 dollars.

That is terribly practical...at least you can take the Venom down the street and threaten the lives of every single bystander

It is an impressive car, no doubt. I would definitely not turn down the opportunity to drive one. However, if I was offerred one for $500k (or even $300k), I would decline. I would rather have a TT Lambo or FGT TT to handle 1000+hp.No offense to Hennessey but I highly doubt his chassis engineering is anywhere near the level of design as any other high powered car over $400k. I poke fun at the Louts references (I really like Elise/Exige); but for a car built for people with an "unlimited budget". . . I agree with you, it probably shouldn't have been designed to look identical to a car available used for $25k. However, I have no clue how functional that bodywork is to efficiently cut through the air, but I'm sure there's some function > form going on, and I can appreciate that, even if it does look like an Exige limo. Based on production numbers, it's highly more likely to see a Murci/LP640/SV than a VGT. I'm not really sure what makes a car look douchy, but there are many stereotypes associated with cars, and from certain Lambo owners I understand your reference. |

Well I can gold plate a pile of elephant **** and charge 2.7 million for it and it would be exclusive as well! HAHA
I agree wtih what you said White Out. Chopping up an existing car is not an elegant form of chassis engieering. I would simply take a 458 over any of the cars mentioned on this thread so far, ... well, or a Singer 911. |

That being said, I don't exactly find it horrible to take an existing cockpit and make the vehicle your own. Especially considering teh extensive work done in the front and rear. However, jsut about the only justification I see for taht is cost savings...whcih we don't see. |

For that much money, I'd rather have a street legal Indycar.

Or a Zonda R and a Agera R, then have enough left over to cover incidentals like tires, engines, front lips, soiled seats, etc.

I like the part where he takes his hand off the wheel to lift his visor back up while doing 263 mph.
Uh.. maybe your visor is trying to tell you something.. |

****, even I'll admit that's quite a feat. Supposedly there was more in the motor but they ran out of runway.
Still a glorified kit-car that'll get you Hennescrewed. Last edited by The Duke; 04-04-2013 at 01:12 PM. |

I would still never buy one. But it's good to see that it's knocking at Veyron SS's door.
However, all Bugatti has to do is shut off the limiter on the SS and the Venom is knocked off its podium. |

Limiter is set at 257.9mph. Hence Hennessey is claiming "fastest production vehicle you can buy".

This did 265mph in 2 miles. It took the Veyron 4 miles to do it. Not to mention the driver actually missed a gear and still did 265mph. I'm sure without the missed gear and double the runway it might, possibly, just maybe click off another 4mph. In all honesty it's gonna smash the speed record. It will be lacking everywhere else but still impressive IMO.
