Default swaping 2.5 gt with ej20t

I wanted to switch my 1997 legacy 2.5 gt dohc with a wrx front clip. It is a complete front clip that i want to buy and i wanted to know if i would have to change my rear or driveshafts or what about the center differential when switching engines. Is there any mods that i might need to do for the swap.

And i was told i could get a twin turbo legacy front clip for cheap but i want to know what would be best out of the two if i wanted to make it a easy swap and best engine for my car.

The twin turbo legacy swap wont work in LHD cars.... anyone trying to sell yo that is full of it.

So what are you putting in the legacy from the wrx?

full motor and tranny?

To clarify, the twin turbo piping will not work in a LHD as it sits stock. It can be adapted if you are feeling overzealous. However, the longblock will fit. You could very easily take the longblock, add WRX exhaust piping, and have yourself a motor. You are probably asking for it though doing something like that.

I've heard that the heads on the Legacy B4s are excellent though.

need to know more about your legacy is at an auto/man
is it a 3.90/4.11
saying STI dosn't alwasy tell you everything
it could be a 4.11

you can use your exisitng transmission if you change the clutch

wireing a older engine in to an 97 with obd-2 is not for that faint of heart

I have a manual tranny in it and i think it is a 4.11 ! Can you help me choose an engine swap. I would like to use a wrx engine and tranny from a jdm front clip. I was going to use the front clips ecu and harness for the complete swap. I need to know want major work will need to be done besides putting in the new tranny and engine. The sti engine that i wanted had a 5mt with engine- it was a completel front clip.

You will need the front cross member off the STi and the motor should just slide right in.

Im not sure on the tranny... Yours is a 3.9 what is the one in the STi?

Ya, they arnt anything that special... At most they are large port jdm ver 7 RA heads, my bet is normal ver7 STi heads. And the cost of re-pipeing all the turbos, then tuneing for them is very expencive. All to have something different, its not like you will make anymore power then others... I just dont understand why anyone would do it.
