It's depends on your area and a month the month basis. And yes for active military the incentive is 2% BACK of invoice. I know because I sell subarus. Lol.

You have to understand that even though some feel entitled to a car being sold to them and $0 profit, sometimes it's not feasible on a vehicle that may be the only one a dealership will receive for the entire yr or at least 6 months. Larger dealerships who keep a few in stock can do it. Smaller ones can't.

Best of luck to you fellas! I work at the Subaru in Florida. Pm if you have specific questions.

but that is correct. As of now
WRX
WRX Sti
Crosstrek Special Edition

..are excluded for the time being. Even us employees can't get the incentive to wherever you go it's up to you and your local dealer to find a happy medium.

Thank you for that info though! That's definitely something to keep in mind.

The Military VIP pricing doesn't apply to the WRX or STI. That said, it's not hard to get pricing that good for some reason. I had two dealerships give me better pricing than VIP in response to my first email.

Also, the VIP pricing is 2% under invoice.

I got a giant chunk off of my 2014 STi for being military. My dealership actually BEAT the 2% under invoice. Their discount was based on MSRP, but I was given the invoice and was easily able to calculate out the fact that in total, it was more than the 2% under invoice.

And they definitely could have turned me down if they wanted to. The morning my car arrived at the dealership, 2 STi's had arrived. The second one was sold within an hour of them opening their doors, and they'd had 2 other inquiries on mine. So, they definitely had the opportunity to sell it for what they wanted to ask for it.

Maybe it just comes down to finding a military-friendly dealership?

VIP applied to the 2014, but pulled the STI and WRX from the program for 2015. Probably because they can't keep them on the lots as it is and they needed to clear out the 2014s. I got my '14 STI and '15 BRZ through VIP, but not my '15 WRX.

I couldn't get military discount on the wrx either.

I don't know where you guys live, but I'm from San Diego and have a Costco membership. They give the same pricing to Costco members as military. So a quick $60 membership could save you hugely.

No huge paperwork either. Just show them ur membership card and they call to confirm and done. No strings attached.

Its great to see most of the military community getting involved and getting to know each other. I encourage all of you, if you haven't yet, look into TEAM RWB in your area. It is a veteran non profit organization that helps veterans/active duty and reservist in all aspects of life. I am in Boston and volunteer as the Climbing lead with events both indoor and outdoor. Super rad to be apart of. Hope all or some check it out.
