I'll be turning 30 next month and I'm super happy driving my 4th Subaru. Been in the Suby game for almost 10 years got my first Impreza back in September 2006. A 2.5i that was my first car that I bought all by myself.

Sold her and got a 2008 Legacy spec.B but sadly that was totaled by an idiot that ran a stop sign and had no insurance.

Next I decided to go old school. Bought myself a little 97 Impreza as a daily / project car.

Then I had a momentary lapse of judgment and left Subaru. Got myself an Infiniti G37s

After a couple of years with that I missed Subaru too much. I had given the GC to my younger brother so he could have a daily and he trashed it. So I decided I would restore it.

End Result

Which brings me to where I am now. I started having some minor issues here and there with the GC and being stranded on the highway about once a month or so gets old quick. So I got myself a 2016 WRX and the GC will be going under the knife once again.

A 4.0 TT V8 is for all ages... especially when my tuner knows how to tune this platform with his eyes closed. But i have my STi still as the fun/autox/track car. New motor will go in when this one goes, should end up around 650whp but 800 capable.

We looked at all forms, Inscription R and Momentum. It was her choice so she went with a loaded Momentum which in the end saved us some money. If i were buying, i'd go with a T8 R in Passion Red... I was going to order a V90 but couldn't wait for delivery next year and picked up the S6

Over 30 here, and I'm on my 3rd WRX!

1. My trusty old 02 wagon, never let me down. Traded her in for....

2. My 2011 STi! Very cool car, however the fuel problem at ~2700 RPMs was very annoying. Traded for my 2015 Sierra so I could pull boats and motorcycles!

3. Just got this project from my brother. I think I missed browsing the classifieds on NASIOC for parts more than anything haha!

Default 38 and getting older

38, bought my first 2005 WRX at 37. It was a WRB Wagon 4eat stock. Quickly was bitten by the Mod bug and strong desire for a manual. Swapped 4EAT to 5MT (came with car or I would have done a 6MT, might still), VF39, 750cc Injectors, STI inter-cooled and hose upgrades to Blue (HPS), Gimmik Turbo Inlet, Koyorad, upgraded to four and two pot brakes, OZ Allegretta Special Edition wheels, AEM AF/Boost/Oil Pressure gauges in ATI Gauge pod and currently working to get the funds to make the wagon a wide body.
I have also got the wife into a 08 STI last August, she is also over 30 at a young age of 29...
maybe it is a mid life crisis, but its a hell of a fun one!!!

31 here with a 2015 WRB WRX. Hauls the wife and three kids (occasionally a dog) around just fine. It's been a fun modding experience so far. I should have her paid down by the end of the year!

47 and on third Subie. 09 WRX, 11 STI, 16 WRX Premium. In between the 11 and the 16 I had an 09 335, a monster BTW. But, back to Subie and happy I did, lighter and fun to drive/mod.

I'm 35. Currently driving a 2012 WRX sedan in ISM.

I got my first WRX at age 21, a WRB 2002 WRX. That one was totaled in a relatively minor crash, and was replaced with another '02 in MBP. I sold the black one when I bought my house (wish I hadn't), and I was out of the Subaru game for a while.

Then a few years ago I got back into a Subaru with 2004 Baja Turbo 5spd, a car I had always wanted. I then traded that in last year on my current WRX, which I love! (I do miss the utility of the pickup bed on the Baja though).

WRX #2

Sold my WRX as I was about to hit 30, got into a 2014 335i that's more "grown up", instead of a new Sti. 6 months later I can say it was a mistake

31 year old here. My 15 WRX was stage one with an intake, was the first legitimately "fast" car i've ever owned. Recently had to trade her in for Golf R because me and my wife are now a one car family and she did not appreciate driving a manual vehicle. I'm gonna miss that damn thing but the Golf R is certainly a beast and will be tuned almost immediately.

Well I am 65 and just bought my first WRX, a 2016 model. This is not my first Subaru but my first performance Subaru. Not sure what I plan to do with it yet for performance as I have only had it for a little over a week. Maybe no more than a CAI and new CAT back exhaust and maybe an off the shelf tune. Had a Corvette Z06 for 10 years but got tired of not being able to drive it in winter and winter storage was becoming a problem so I got rid of it and bought something I can drive all year round and have fun in the snow.

Curious why you think the 335i was a mistake over the WRX/STi...any insight?

I had a 335is convertible. It looked pretty and was definitely more luxurious/refined but an STI is more suited towards an active lifestyle; snowboarding, golfing, gym, etc.

Plus w a $65-70k car, you get even more OCD about people bumping/scratching it because you get raped anytime you take it in for anything because everyone assumes you've got money to waste (because you've got a "fancy BMW"). With a rough and tough car, you expect some bumps and bruises along the way.

It's pretty ironic but the BMW got more attention from the ladies and the STI gets more attention from dudes; and yet I ditched the BMW because the STI fits me better and makes me happier.
