I recently got a pair of Remark AB on my 16 STI. Kind of loud.. not sure I like the sound. I may do the HKS or just go back to stock and later run the Remark on my WRX down the road. The WRX sounds so much smoother with the AB vs STI.

I run Remark deletes on the WRX. They sound pretty good for a 4 pot at WOT, specially coming out of a corner at higher RPM. Far cry from a NA BMW I6 or something like the HEMI but surprisingly good at high RPM. I was afraid of that the cold starts maybe too loud but with stratified cold start disabled it is not an issue. My big gripe is the boominess around 3K during moderate throttle.

Default Exhaust Questions

Received my new exhaust in a mangled box that was clearly previously opened.

Would anyone be happy with the following? Does it look like it has been installed before. Specifically I see scratches on the flange for the bolts as well as where it mated to the cat back location. The manufacturer said it looked fine and to enjoy it, however, I still feel like it looks like it was used.

I ran an identical situation with another vendor, sent them pics and demanded consideration. Asked for 20%, got 10%, I was ok with that in my case.

Well, the company responded to my email stating it is their policy to open the box to put in the packing label for shipping and it was packed as is by the manufacturer. 1. You don't need to fully open a box to slide a label in. 2. The contents didn't match the box opening video on other sites. So yea this is awesome

What company did you buy that from? Definitely looks used whether they took back a return or the manufacture boxes it that way shouldn't be your issue. They should give you a new uninstalled item if that's what you paid good money for.

I'm trying to not name names at this time, but they are trying to say it was ups to cover the fact the box was clearly opened previously more so than they claim to inspect new parts and shipping label.

Stuff this is the reason I buy car parts on my credit card because you can always dispute the charge. Them saying it was ups makes even less sense since there is also damage to the inside of the piping and you see the imprints of the bolt head on the mounting flange. IF they opened the box just to inspect it and found these issues acceptable to send out to a customer then that confirms how crappy their service is. There should be no reason to send something like this out to a customer. They should make it right.

Additional interesting thoughts after sleeping on it, you can actually see the box, and their other products from other manufacturers in one of their videos on Instagram. The thought that they seriously open every single box in the warehouse is laughable at best. I know my options for sure as I even used to work in small business retail. I'll have a full write up eventually, but was just trying to collect everyone else's thoughts.

Hello! This is a really specific question, but I thought Iíd ask in case anyone has experience with it. I had the OEM sti performance exhaust installed on my Ď18 STI. I actually like it a lot and love the low end rumble it has. But I know the nameless muffler delete is pretty well rated and it sounds like itíll give it some more sound on the higher end. I was wondering if anyone knows if thereís a difference in sound between installing the nameless muffler delete on the performance exhaust, vs just the regular oem stock exhaust? They have compatible versions for both now. I kind of feel silly already wanting to try one even though I had my exhaust installed probably 3-4 months ago lol. I was just curious if they might sound different. I believe the performance exhaust has a resonator on it, but Iím not 100% sure.

It's funny how the bends, length, and radius of piping all affect the sound. So I bet there is difference between putting one on the factory piping and SPT piping.. do not know which sounds better though but worth a try.

Yeah I may just go with it and see. I do not have the original anymore though. Probably should have just went with it in the first place and saved a lot of money. But I guess it doesnít hurt to have one to switch around to every once in a while to change things up!

since you are in Portland, could just make the 25-30 minute drive north and visit Nameless

The OEM piping up to an axle-back is SKINNY compared to typical 3" aftermarket cat-back piping.

Searching this thread it seems there is not a lot of input (or videos on YouTube) on the AWE track exhaust on a WRX. I ordered one, just waiting for it to ship. Once I get it installed I will update along with a detailed video in case anyone is interested.

So as far as I can tell, consensus is that for someone that wants an exhaust thatís stock+1 or so is to get the AWE touring? As far as I can tell MSRP for the AWE and the SPT exhaust is very close...any suggestions on which way to lean?

Iíve had the AWE touring for about 10,000 miles now and it never gets old. Not too loud for the wife, doesnít drone, can still be audible when you get on it. Great look and quality overall.

Put a Borla S-Type on my 18 STI 2 weeks ago.

I absolutely love it.

Sorry for the delay all. I got it installed and should have video clips posted on Monday for the AWE track. I will say this exhaust sounds amazing. Basically sounds like muffler deletes but without the rasp.
