Default New to forum - opinions on Cobb Big Sf intake?

Hey All,

New to this forum and Subaru's mostly, as this is the first I've owned. Just got a 2016 WRX Limited 6spd in White. I absolutely love it so far, only 1k miles I've put on it. I bought a Cobb AP since I wasn't a huge fan of the factory tune and I just bought the MAPerformace OTS. I originally bought the AP along with the Cobb Big SF intake and was wondering peoples thoughts on the intake. I really enjoy the car with the MA tune and am leaning towards selling or returning the Big SF. Any input is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Jesse

hang on to the intake until you get a turbo-back. Then, add it.

You need to NOT ask people's thought on this and do the following:

1. Research intakes. There's a post titled Intake FAQ that you did not read.
2. Engage your tuner on this topic.

What I say matters zero. What you find from 1 and 2 is what matters.

Not needed honestly. Just go stage 2 and get a downpipe.

Iíve done quite a bit of research and the reason I ask is only that I can not use it with the MAP tune, Cobb doesnít show dyno numbers, and as much as Iíve searched so far, I canít find anything on the Cobb stage 1+ regarding that. So Iíd rather not spend the extra money for cool sounds if Iíll get a better running car with more power from just the MA tune alone. Thanks for the inputs guys. Think Iíve made my decision on what to do.

I have used and installed just about every intake out there, and I like the Cobb intake a lot. It does make power (figure at least 5whp over the stock airbox), but it's also very linear in terms of the voltage-per-airflow curve. It's easy to tune with. I would use it, and either use the Cobb +SF map, or get a custom map built by your local tuner.
