Default Tire size: 255x35xr18 // Wheel size: 18x8x45

I just ordered the RCE regular guy black springs (lowers about .78 inches).

I own a 2014 wrx hatch. Should I rub? Would these wheels/tires fit fine? Thanks in advance!

Wheels: Enkei t6s
Tires: Firestone Firehawk Indy 500

From what I've found your 2014 WRX comes factory with a P235/45R17.
You should be fine, your new tire size is actually 3 tenths of an inch smaller in overall diameter:
  • P235/45R17:
Diameter: 25.3"
Width: 9.3"
Sidewall: 4.2"
Circumference: 79.5"
  • P255/35R18:
Diameter: 25"
Width: 10"
Sidewall: 3.5"
Circumference: 78.6"
  • New Tire Difference:
Diameter: .3" Smaller
Width: .7" Larger
Sidewall: .7" Smaller
Circumference: .9" Smaller

That is a HUGE tire for that size width wheel though...why are you going with that size tire?

You're right. I was worried it'd be a bit too small. I was looking for 8.5 or 9. Think that'd be any better? I want to give my car a more aggressive, wider look without adding spacers

You're talking a tire that will bulge out each side of the wheel a full inch. You'd probably want to look around the wheel and tire section.

So what would you recommend? If I wanted a tire width of 255, what size wheel should I get?

That size tire is more suited for a 9-9.5" wheel. A 245/40/18 ( which is on the sti) fits perfectly on an 8.5 wheel, which, depending on how low the offset, would not require a roll for the rears on your hatch. Anything above 8.5" width and with 255+ width tires with a low offset will most likely rub with weight in the car on big bumps and would require a roll to avoid that.

Appreciate it. Whatever wheel I buy, I'll be keeping the offset between 42 and 45. If I have a drop of less than an inch with 245 - 255 wheel width, would I need to roll? Should I be good? I don't want it to be stupid flush

I rubbed on 18x9.5 +38offset with 255/35/18 tires stock height....but only with weight in the car...I rolled the rears before I even lowered it so not sure what would have happened with the natural camber and all. Didn't risk it lol But a 42-45 should be OK. But I don't have first hand experience so I couldn't say for 100% sure

Good to know! Thanks again! Think I'm gonna go with 255/35/18 with 18x9x42 - 45 offset. Just to clarify, that'd work out?
