Stupid Autox classification question.
I haven't followed the SCCA rules / classification in a few years.
Back in 1999/2000 when I had my 2.5 RS I knew the class for it. Now I have a 100% stock 2001 Impreza L sedan, 2.2L with 5-speed tranny. As the car sits currently am I still in "G-stock"? If I add a 17mm rear sway bar does that put in into "STS", or something else? If I upgrade the front brake calipers to RS style 2-pots calipers and rotors (not larger WRX rotors), and also do a rear disc brake conversion (from an RS also) what class does that put me in? Thanks for the help. I dont' have time to search right now. Paul G. (lazy )

stock L would be H stock. rear sway would put you into STS. Brakes I'd have to look into more.. probably a prepared class like DSP/FSP.

I think those are all correct... -Matt EDIT : No update/backdate in DSP as they (the L and the RS) are on different lines. |

Thanks for the help though. At least now I know I'm in H-stock if anyone asks. I won't do the rear bar anytime soon because I want to learn a bit more before modifying. The car has 17,500 miles so the brake upgrade is a ways away. Paul G. |

Nope, not the same line in the rule book meaning in the classification table for SP, if they were together and eleigible they'd be listed like:
DSP: Impeza 2.2L, 2.5 But they're listed something like this: DSP: Impreza 2.2L DSP: Impreza 2.5 1) HS B) STS or higher III) STX or SM --kC |

Ahh. I get it now. I'm not familar with the rule book in detail.
Thanks for the help guys. The events I run are usually only classed as: 1. Novice -street tires 2. Novice - race tires 3. Experienced - street tires 4. Experienced - race tires but they sometimes ask for your SCCA class to do pax timing. It's not a big deal but I don't want to to give the wrong info and get someone upset that might know. Paul G. |

Isn't the 2.2L car in FSP? I thought that was a classing change last year?
